Joy

I saw a quote this week that has been on my mind every since I saw it.

Joy. If you don't fight for it, it's your children who loose.

I would even go as far as adding husband.

They loose not you.

I have been thinking about joy lately. How this is something you literally have to fight for. Like fight. At least me. I know shocking, pastor's wife isn't joyious. Headline of the year. I'm not a naturally joyous person. Don't get me wrong I can be bubbley and nice, but deep down inside I'm not very joyious.

JOY defined – the inner attitude of rejoicing in one’s salvation regardless of outward circumstances. One of the fruits of a right relationship with God.

You see I think a lot of people don't understand what joy really is. Joy can't be faked on the outside. It has nothing to do with the outside. It is your inner attitude. And here is the kicker. Regardless of outside circumstances.

I have heard people all my life say things about the devil stealing their joy. I had never really put much thought to it. I just kind of rationalized it to mean they were unhappy with life. In the blahs. It is so much more than that though. It's the devil actually making you belief that your problems and circumstances and garbage swirling around in you mind constantly are actually greater than your salvation. When you have joy it means that no matter what is going on you realize that everything is ok because you know deep within you that you have received the gift of salvation and that triumphs any earthy problem.

Joy isn't something that can be taught. You have to fight for it. And oh please do. Especially if you are a Mom. Your child will only know it through you fighting for it.

Thanks for reading!!!
