Hope

Psalm 71:5 - For thou art my hope, O Lord God; thou art my trust from my youth.
Psalm 71:14 - But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.

The writer of Psalm 71 was an elderly person who placed their hope and trust in the Lord. It is actually a prayer for help for God to deliver him out of the hand of the wicked. His enemies said that God had forsaken him, therefore they could persecute and destroy him.

When reading this psalm you can clearly see the close relationship he had with God. He walked with God a long time. While the storms of life's circumstances rage, he places his hope and trust in God. Hope in action expects for a positive result. Trust in action leaves us in peace. Praise in action shows our faith to God.

Who are you hoping in today? Are the storms of life raging around you? If so, run to your Heavenly Father in prayer placing your hope and trust in him. He loves you and he is a God of more than enough! He wants to fulfill whatever you are hoping for. He will never leave you nor forsake you. God is good and will always have your back.

Now I have a daughter who I love dearly as most parents do. I want to meet all her needs and more. When she comes to me and asks for something, the desire of my heart is to fulfill that request as long as it is good for her. It blesses me to fulfill that request. When she needs or wants something she comes to me with hopes of me fulfilling her request and then she trusts me to do it! Now we are Gods children and he loves us dearly. His love goes way beyond human love and yet we carry our burdens. I wonder why? God wants to fulfill our every need and a lot of our wants just like parents do. So place your hope in him today and trust him to do it!
