Offering

One of the most familiar scriptures to people today is John 3:16 which says (Jesus speaking) For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. So much to learn in this one verse about God and how we need to respond to him.

God gave to us so much when he gave Jesus to the world so he could become the perfect sacrifice for our sins. He became a perfect offering without blemish for us. What love!! Jesus suffered, died, and was buried, to be miraculously raised up from the dead by God. He then ascended into heaven after forty days of walking with his disciples on earth. He is alive right now in a physical body sitting on the right hand of the Father. How awesome! But God was not done yet with his redemption plan.
The next phase of his plan was to send to us the Holy Spirit of God which he did at Pentacost. Acts chapter 2.

Now let's go back to John 3:16. The second half of the verse states that whosever believes in Jesus will never perish but they will have eternal life. Are you a whosoever? Have you accepted Gods perfect sacrifice Jesus Christ as your Lord? If so, have you laid down your own life for him so you can become a living sacrifice for his service? Should we as Christian people do any less?

Romans 12:2 says I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Respond to Gods love today by making Jesus  The Lord of your life, which means to give him all of you. The good, the bad , and the ugly! Lay it down. Let him carry your load. His yolk is easy and his burden is light!
