Notice Simon Peter's response to the words of Jesus: We have toiled all night and caught nothing. But because You say so I will let down the nets. Basically what he is saying is Lord I'm tired but I will do as you say!
Have you ever found yourself in Simon Peter's shoes?? Have you been tired but knew The Lord was giving you instruction? How did you responded? I'm sad to say I've not always responded as I should. I wonder just how many blessings I have missed out on due to my lack of obedience? When we continue reading we learn that he caught so many fish that his net began to break and they had to call for help! Isn't it amazing what a simple act of obedience can do??
Many times our obedience is not about our blessing but about being a blessing to someone else!
So today let me encourage us all to "just obey"! God may be using us to bless someone's life which in turn will bless ours!!
This devotion was written from the heart of Beth Reed!! I would love to hear from you!!
