God's Sandpaper

Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: (Hebrews 12:14 NKJV)

Ok, let's be honest there are just some people that grate on our nerves!! Maybe it's someone at work, school or yes even church!! Maybe it's those people who get in the 20 items or less lane with a cart full of stuff. Maybe it's people that drive slow in the left lane or park in the handicap spot.
I like to think of these people as God's sandpaper. We may get scratched and hurt a bit but He can use them to rub the rough edges off of us and in the end we will be polished. He can use them to make us into the person He wants us to be. No matter how much they rub us the wrong way, we are to pursue peace with them.
So, the next time you encounter that person do what The Word tells us and pursue peace. Thank God for the chance to live by His Word. Maybe your example will make a difference in that persons life!!

This devotion was written from the heart of Beth Reed. I would love to hear from you.

  1. LOL!!!! Thank you for the laugh this morning :) It was so true! Actually I thought of myself when I read it. Lately in my personal life I feel like I am literally the sand paper God is molding into the Christian woman He and I both desire me to be!!!! Pamela Britt Malone
