Are you ready?

We live in dangerous times. I am so thankful to God for the 54 years of life he has allowed me to live. During the first 25 years of my life the world was a different place to live in. It was not as dangerous. We could leave our homes unlocked when we went somewhere and their was not a cell phone in sight.  If someone told me back then that someday we would have a phone in our cars that took pictures I would have told you no way! Computers were starting to be developed, but no internet. People had time to visit with family members and friends. Life was slower. Easier. Children and young teenagers today do not know about this life as they were born in an age where everything is fast and easy. The internet, cell phones, iPads, and all sorts of technology have turned our world upside down in just the second half of my life. If you think about it technology in the past decade has transformed all of our lives. Why am I telling you this? Because all of these changes are BIG signs of the times before our Lords return.

Starting in Mattew 24:5 to verse twelve Jesus describes the signs that will occurr before the end of the world. He said many would come in his name and deceive many. There would be wars and rumors of wars. Look at all the wars happening in the Middle East right now! He said nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There shall be famines and pestilence and earthquakes in divers places. All of these have occurred in the past 100 years and are rapidly occurring now on a regular basis. Jesus says in Matt 24: 8 All these things are the beginning of sorrows. According to strongs concordance the word sorrows in Greek means a pang, especially of childbirth. Pain, sorrow or travail. The world is travailing with birth pains right now. Can you see and feel the pain? How close do you think we are to giving birth to the end of this age? He then tells his disciples that they will be delivered up to be afflicted and they would be killed. I look for this to happen to Christians in the United States very soon. He says many will be offended and hate one another. How true for our world today. He also said false prophets will arise and deceive many. Look how many we have heard about so far. Jesus said the love of many will wax cold. How true today! Today we have mothers killing their own children. How cold is that?

Jesus says in Matt 24:32 Now LEARN a parable of the fig tree; when his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh. V33 So likewise ye, when ye shall SEE all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. V34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all theses things be fulfilled. V35 heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

So are you re you ready? Jesus is coming soon! Accept him today as your savior. He loves you. This devotion was written by the heart of Pat James via the Holy Spirit of god. You may comment at ptrc _maher@yahoo.com.
