Come To Me

Matthew 11:28-30
28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

Over the last several months there have been many trials and heartbreaks enter the lives of many so dear to me. Friends that love Jesus and His people and work so hard to share that love with others. I have sat with them and talked and took in the look of weariness on their faces. I have longed for the words to make things better for them. Better for those who have children in difficult situations, for those who have lost a husband, a father, a grandfather and a mentor. But those words don’t seem to come. The truth is that the only One that can help us carry these burdens and relieve us of our weariness is Jesus!! Only He can provide the rest our souls so long for in difficult times. We can find comfort in these words in Matthew and the words of Isaiah 41:13 “For I hold you by your right hand—I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you”.

So today if you are weary and burdened take your troubles to the ONLY one that can provide you with true comfort and rest. Take them to JESUS!!!

To every [thing there is] a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Balance. I think this is something we all struggle with. You might not even recognize it, but it is the root of a lot of common problems. When there is no balance to your life it causes so much stress, anxiety, worry, and strife. I am sitting here typing this devotion at 10:30 PM. I haven't even taken off my work clothes yet. I didn't eat dinner till after 8:00 PM. My 2 year old child just got put to bed by Daddy because I'm busy on the computer. I worked all day. Came home worked a little more. Went to the grocery store. Came back home. Cooked dinner. Bathed the baby. Ate dinner finally. Sat down to work on my side job around 9:00 PM. And, of course I'm still on the computer. I desperately need balance in my life.

Have you ever set and thought about what balance you need in your life to bring you the most peace? I started thinking about this about a year ago. When I feel my most balanced is this: house a little clean (doesn't have to be spotless but clean enough I don't feel constantly overwhelmed), working my normal job on schedule, going to church every time it's opened, second job work under control (maybe not all finished but have a grasp on it!), in good communication terms with the hubby, praying every day (specific prayer not just my plead the blood of Jesus prayer routine), deeper (making notes in my actual Bible) Bible study at least 2 times a week, impromptu Bible reading daily, my child bathed every day and feed (sometimes its the small things :)), no dishes in the sink, laundry caught up (just kidding! when would that ever happen? not an overwhelming pile is more like it!), meals somewhat planned for the week, and being able to spend some quality time with my little boy and husband. Not too much to ask for huh? It actually is a lot. And, this is what I need to feel "balanced" it doesn't even scratch the service of my average "to do today" list.

Life is busy. Way busier than what we actually have time to accomplish. It's hard. I want to encourage you to try and find balance in your everyday lives. I realize this might open a can of worms, but have you actually ever thought about what you need to feel balance? Pray about it! God loves balance! It will make you feel better and even give you opportunity to make sure you have a good balance of spirituality verses worldliness. Well you really don't want a balance there. You want more God in your lives than you do worldliness! This process of thought will help you accomplish that!

"Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring (in fierce hunger), seeking someone to seize upon and devour." 1 Peter 5:8

When we have no balance in our lives it opens the door in our spiritual lives for a possible attack of the enemy. It's his golden opportunity to sneak in. We have to find balance.

Dishonest scales are detestable to the Lord, but an accurate weight is His delight.
Proverbs 11:1

Let's be honest with ourselves and with God today about our "weight" in our lives. Let's weigh everything out and make a plan of action for balance. It will delight Him!!

It is now 11:00 PM. I am going to finally change clothes and get in the bed. I'll then wake up in the AM and do it all over again. Hopefully this time I kind find a little more balance!

Thanks for reading!
I would love to connect with you!

Where are you from?

For I have told you often before, and I say it again with tears in my eyes, that there are many whose conduct shows they are really enemies of the cross of Christ. They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth. But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. (Philippians 3:18-20 NLT)

It is a fact that you can just about tell where someone is from by the way they talk, the way they dress, or how they drive on the highway. A lot of times we can tell who the auburn (blah) and Alabama fans are because they wear the colors and logos proud daily. It's no lie that we are recognizable by our lifestyle, actions, and appearance.

So if the Bible tells us that we are citizens of Heaven (now not later) then I ask this, do we talk like a citizen of Heaven do we act like a citizen of Heaven? Does our lifestyle reflect a citizen of Heaven? When people look at you or talk to you can they say, that truly is a citizen of Heaven?

The Bible is our citizenship manual. Let's resolve to dig in deep and find out how citizens of Heaven should live and let's live it.

After all we are representing it here everyday.

True Love

Romans 8:35 - Who will separate us from the love of Christ?  Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or sword? V. 36 - just as it is written, "For your sake we are being put to death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be slaughtered." V. 37 - But in all things we overwhelmingly conquer through him who loved us. V. 38 - For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, not principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, V. 39 - not height, not depth, not any created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. NASB.

There are many promises in Gods word for us to stand on in life's journey. This promise is powerful! God says there is nothing that can separate us from his love, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Even when we are in a dark place, our heart overwhelmed with sadness he is there with us and his love will allow us to be overcomers. There is just ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that keeps gods love from us. Do not let satan fool you when your feelings tell you different. Gods word is true. People's feelings are changing all the time and are not dependable to steer there life. We must keep our eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Asking, believing, and receiving his love for us in all situations in life. Gods love is limitless! May Gods blessings overtake you and his favor shine upon you today.

Over Coming Fear

Over Coming the Fear of Abandonment.  Heb.13:5 Let your conversation be with out covetousness ; and be content with such things as ye have : for he hath said , I will never leave the nor forsake thee.  By understanding the truth that God loves us ,we grow to new levels of trust and acceptance  in our relationships with others.Four basic needs , acceptance, idenity, security and purpose that every human needs.1 know you are loved by others ,acceptance is vital to trust people .God wants us to know that we are accepted unconditionally by him and he loves us. As we develop in our  relationship with Him,we will see that nothing we do or don't do can separate us from His love (Romans 8:35,39).2 identity , every person has a need for identity knowing you significant and special individuals. When we seek definition from others we fall  short of our expectations. 3 Security which is a feeling of being protected and provided for, broken homes or divorce cause a fear of abandonment.God can restore you, God can meet the need  for security like know one else can. Finally a need for purpose in life.Knowing your purpose means knowing God has a special plan for your life. You mat not know it right now, but God has something awesome prepared for you.( Jeremiah 29:11) God is love (1John4;16), and He wants to brung us to a place of ultimate fulfillment. Heaven is for Real

Heaven is a real place. I just got done watching the movie Heaven is for Real. Although I wasn't super impressed with the movie, I feel it is important to keep our thoughts on heavenly things. I always find it so encouraging to read scriptures about heaven!

John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Revelation 22:1-5  Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.  No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had
passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.""
[English Standard Version, Revelation 21:1-5]

"But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells."
[2 Peter 3:13]

You are NEVER alone

God said, "I will be with you. "

Exodus 3:12

Those are five really powerful words from God, aren't they? God had said these words to Moses right after he had given Moses a job to do. Moses was fearful he he couldn't do the job, but God reminded him that he wasn't going to do the job alone. God was going to be right there with him.

God's Word (Bible) is filled with that same promise to you! God will be with you. God is already with you if you are a Christian. Whatever life brings your way, whatever job God gives you to do, you don't have to go through anything alone!

That is comforting when maybe you feel like you can't do the job God has asked you to do. Or maybe you feel like you aren't smart enough or creative enough to do the job. God didn't just didn't throw us into the world and say "you are on your own now!" No, He is with you every step of the way! He will give you the knowledge, strength, words to say or whatever you need to get the job done! Remember he promised!!

There have been so many times in my life when God has asked me to do things. Almost always I feel that it is way out of my comfort zone, but God always helps me! So let God help you today! And remember you are NOT alone!!

Not even an option

"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. "

Matthew 28:19-20

Sharing the message of God's word and love is not even an option. It is a command that we as Christians must do. We can't assume that other people will do the job for us. It's not just your preacher or pastor's job to spread the Gospel. It doesn't matter how old you are either. There is not an age limit on ministering to someone. This also doesn't mean you have to be in church to share the good news of Jesus. You can minister to someone anytime at any place. You can start being a whiteness by living your life for God and trust me people will notice. There is an old saying that your life may be the only Bible some people will ever read. Wow! Really think about that! Don't ever be afraid to make choices that reflect your love for God and your obedience to him!!! Let your love for God shine brightly!!!

Thank you so much for taking time to read today's devotion. My name is Mandy Robertson and I love spreading the love of God!! I love reading everyone's comments! Feel free to email me anytime!!

God's Plan

"I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord,"plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. "

Jeremiah 29:11

Have you ever sat and watched a leaf floating around in the air? Watched the leaf flying up, then down, then around and around? It has no set rhythm or path. No one knows where it will fly to next or where it will end up.

Sometimes life can really feel like that. It gets confusing sometimes. But, NEVER FEAR, you are very different from the blowing leaf! God has a plan for your life! He says so in the above scripture.

From even before you were born, He's been working out that plan for your life. His plans for you are GOOD because all of his plans are perfect and GOOD! So stay close to God, continually read your Bible and pray! Trust God and see where he leads you!!

Thank you so much for reading today's devotion!! My name is Mandy Robertson! I absolutely love to read everyone's comments and thoughts! Feel free to email me anytime :)

God our Healer

This devotion is written today by the heart of Pat James in hopes of comforting those who need comfort. For those who need freedom. For those that need encouragement and for those who just need to be loved.  As you read I pray the Holy Spirit will penetrate your heart and gods words will heal you.

Isaiah 61:1 - The spirit of The Lord is upon me,
Because the spirit of the LORD has anointed me
                          To bring good news to the afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
                           And freedom to prisoners;
V.2  To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD
                           And the day of vengeance of our God;
                           To comfort all who mourn,
V3.  To grant those who mourn in Zion,
Giving them a garland instead of ashes,
The oil of gladness instead of mourning,
The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting.
So they will be called oaks of righteousness,
The planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.

Jesus quoted these words in Luke 4:18-19. In verse 21 of this same chapter he said "Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your ears". Of course the people in the synagogue did not understand what he meant, but Christian people today do because we are on the other side of the finished work of Christ. Receive the GOOD NEWS today that God LOVES YOU right where you are and he wants to heal your every need.

Who is your power source?

I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.

Philippians 4:13

One of the many cool things about God's word is that God put stories in it about people that said "I can't ...." People like Moses who said he couldn't lead the Israelites out of Egypt. People like Jonah who chose not to listen to God the first time. God knows that sometimes you will be scared or nervous by the things he ask you to do. He already knows that you will doubt yourself. That you will think you aren't smart enough, or have the skill to do what he ask of you.

However, God wants you to know that you do have everything you need to do whatever He wants you to do because you have Jesus! Through Jesus Christ, God will give you the strength to do absolutely anything He ask!

God doesn't always call the qualified.... He qualifies the Called!!

Rub a Dub Dub

Rub A Dub Dub

Romans 12:5
So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and INDIVIDUALLY members one of another.
How do you bathe? Yes, I "really" ask that question!!! If you took a survey I'm sure everyone would have a different way of bathing . Some people wash their hair first, others last. If you are a man then I'm sure you go about your grooming process different than your neighbor. The same is definitely true with ladies, our routines of doing our hair and putting on our make up!
In Church's across the world the same exact thing is true! I attend an non denominational Church where many people are serving Jesus and coming from different religious backgrounds. It is a beautiful thing to watch people who are sold out to Jesus come together with different ways and different ideas to accomplish great things for the coming of Christ!!! I LOVE my Church Family!! Isn't Church Family the best??? :)))

Think of Others

Philippians 2:3 (NIV) – Nothing should be done because of pride or thinking about yourself. Think of other people as more important than yourself.

Often times The Lord will ask us to do something that we really do not want to do. Usually it is because it is hard or uncomfortable for us.  When that happens, we can come up with all kinds of reasons for not doing it! I have found that the hardest things He requires of me are almost always for the benefit of someone else. I must be honest and say that I sometimes have trouble getting myself out of the way!

The scripture in Philippians tells us that we should think of others as more important than ourselves. Many times the things that are hardest for us will make a huge difference in the life of someone else! So, next time you get that little nudge to do something that you really don’t want to, think of what it might mean to someone else.

Praise Him because He is worthy of Praise!

Praise The Lord. give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; His love endures forever.

Psalm 106:1

Praising God should not just be a private thing. If the only time you praise and worship God is in the privacy of you own home, your prayer closet or at your church, well you are really missing something! The truth is that if you are scared or embarressed of what other people might think of your relationship with God, then you probably don't really feel free to worship Him.

If you can't even praise Him and thank God with ALL of your heart for all that he has done for you, then it is going to be super hard to tell other people about Him! So don't be ashamed or embarressed. Praise God with all that you have and with everything within you! Because He is worthy!!

There Is Nothing Too Hard

You here that phrase often in life if you are a Christian. There is nothing too hard for God. It is always reassuring when you find it in The Word though!

Jeremiah 32:17

Ah, Sovereign Lord, You have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.

The Word really does say there is nothing too hard for God. And for me, that verse gives me peace. It gives me reassurance that when this world is spinning so fast and I can't even get a grasp on what is happening, nothing is too hard for God.

There is nothing on this earth that He can't fix. There is nothing on this earth that He can't make right. There is nothing on this earth that He can't heal. There is nothing on this earth that He can't make go away.

That verse we have to stand on. It's a promise. Hold on to it when you can't hold on to anything else.

Nothing is too hard for God!

Thanks for reading!

No Excuses

For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. NIV.

Everything god created in the beginning of time was good. By his creations we can see his eternal power and divine nature. I live in the country where you hear many sounds and see many animals. From beautiful deers to possums, squirrels, raccoons, and skunks! Birds singing there special tunes and bull frogs blurting out rivet rivet. Whiperwills and owls singing there melody in the night. All these were created by God.

A few years ago I became fascinated by humming birds. They are so tiny and their wings flutter ninety to nothing! They are so cute! One day I told my husband isn't it amazing how God created the hummingbirds! There tiny wings, feet, tail, and all their tiny internal parts. There lungs, heart and all. There are many different kinds of hummingbirds too, just like all of Gods creations.

So what is my point? Well Gods creations prove that he is real! Creation is living proof that there is a god of the universe who loves us. Look at all he has created for us to enjoy and above all he has created you and I in his image. So quess what? If you do not know God you are without excuse because Gods creations magnify his eternal power and divine nature.

If you do not know or have not received Gods only begotten son, Jesus as your Savior let me encourage you today to do so. Today is the day of salvation. Do not wait as time is short. God loves you! Say this prayer andJesus will come into your heart today and all things in your life will become new. Lord Jesus I believe you are the son of God and I am a sinner needing forgiveness. Please forgive me of my sins and come live in my heart. Take my life Lord and do something with it. Amen!

Combating Fear of the End Times

Matthew 24:6 " see that ye be not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet" The bible says that in the last days men's hearts would fail them because of fear. Those who don't know Jesus Christ , the future is uncertain.

We Belivers put our faith in the sciptures, we will not fear the future.Matt.24 is a powerful chapter ,Jesus described what the signs of His coming would be as well as what to expect. I think if we allow this chapter to be the lens through which we veiw the end times it will set our minds at ease in many ways.Deception is the norm in most every place today, He knew it would be , next wars and rumors of war, Israel is the hotspot Now!

Jesus said be not troubled: these things must come to  pass.Famines, earthquakes,  and hardened hearts that are devoid of Gods Love.1Corinthians 13 must be the corner stone of our Christian life because it describes what love really is.

Keep God First

MSG:"(Proverbs 3:6) 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

I can't say I do this because that would be a lie all in itself.. I can't say my path is straight either.

But I am human. It is not an excuse to use when we fall.. Yes we all mess up! That's a given.

It's how we learn. It's how we get stronger with our walk with The Lord. BUT only if we choose it. I met a guy last summer got caught up with him. He has helped me understand and realize a lot. In the beginning I kept God first always! I was content with just me and my son and wasn't looking for anyone. Didn't care to. Everything seemed fine my path was straight my life seemed awesome!!! :) Well the guy and I aren't married and we've been living unfaithful to God. Things seemed to go up and down nothing ever seemed right at all. I got to thinking about it. Uh duh!! Light bulb I knew I needed to finish where I began. Putting GOD FIRST and making Him number 1 and leaving it that way!! Things started getting better and turning around the way they needed to be. If you stray from God He will always remind you in one form or another to come back to him and why. Keep focused on him and don't doubt Him. Because He knows what's best even if you don't :)

Life Is A Vapor

whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. (James 4:14 NKJV)

The events in the lives of some close to me over the last several weeks have caused this scripture to keep coming to my mind. Although it is in a section about boasting the truth of this verse applies to many areas of our lives.

The question is simple yet hard... For what is your life? The truth is life is just a vapor. Here and then gone. Are we living it to the fullest for our Heavenly Father?? Are we walking in love and forgiveness?  Are we sharing His love with others? Are we living unselfishly? I challenge you today to ask yourself this question!!! See what the answer is!! If you are willing please share in the comment section of this devotion.

Anyone can be saved and set free!

All those who heard him were astonished and asked, "Isn't he the man who raised havoc in Jerusalem among those who call on this (Christ's) name?

Acts 9:21

If you really think about it, Saul was a nasty person. He made it his goal to find people who believed in Christ and made their lives awful. He was super good at it too. And he was proud of that. If there was ever a person that you think couldn't be saved, you would think it would be Saul. But as we have all read Jesus got ahold of Saul's heart and completely transformed it. Saul became Paul- one of the greatest preachers of all time and God also used him to write lots if the Bible.

We all probably know someone that we or other people think they could ever be saved. Someone so mean you would think they would never want to accept Jesus. But don't be so sure. God can change anyone's heart. And he will! Just trust him to do it!!

"You don't have to spend another day of your life just hoping to find joy, like it's a lottery prize that only a few lucky people win."

Joyce Meyer

This was in my mailbox today when I got home. What a huge reminder. Actually a slap in the face. Joy. It seems like a hard thing to get a hold of for most people including myself. It seems weird to think about happiness like this, but it is a choice. You can choose to be happy or you can choose to be miserable.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Galatians 5: 22-23

Joy is a fruit of the spirit. It is there. If you are connected to Jesus you can have it in your life. You can be joyful! You have to make the choice to demonstrate it though. In every situation. In every battle. In every storm. In every bad day. The choice is yours.

Thanks so much for reading! I pray an increase of joy in your life today!!!!!

True Love and Goodness

Psalms 34:8 - O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man who trusts in him.

These past few days have been challenging for me as I have been walking in the flesh. Yes my fleshly feelings came out and at this moment I am not happy with my words and actions. Torn between my feelings and what I know is true about my Jesus, who is good all the time, humbles me and brings me to my knees.

You see he knew all about my failures, my stumbling the day he saved me. As I run to him this morning I really am beginning to understand the goodness of God. My feelings do not change God. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever! So he is good all the time no matter what state of mind I am in. Romans 8:28 says - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

He is forever working for my good therefore I can trust him and rest in the fact whenever I fail he is waiting for me to come to him with open arms. Arms of love, mercy, forgiveness, goodness and much more. No other place I would rather be!

If your like me you feel terrible when you sin, but let me encourage you to not give up on yourself! Gods love is really more than us humans can comprehend. He will never give up on us as long as we do not give up on ourselves.

Dealing with the Fear of Lack

Deu:2:7  For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.

When we look at this scripture we see God God has declared our hands blessed, He is saying I have equipped and empowered you to be successful through out all I ha e called you to do.He said Israel walked through the wilderness 40yrs. And lacked nothing , nothing means nothing.

Many times we see our needs  and our wants as the same but that isnt what  the word says ,Luke9:3-4 Jesus told His disiciples to go take nothing for the Journey! He was teaching them to how to fully Trust God, 6 says they never lacked anything. Knowledge Is Power.

Ps.34:10 says when we seek Him According to His  word and in line  with our needs we will not lack those things.(food ,shelter, clothes, )  Hoesa4:6 says Gods people are destroyed because of lack of knowledge. Destroyed in Hebrew means cut off.As result they live their life cut off from the provisions God has made. Fear : Attack on marriages   1 Cor.13:9 Charity never faith.

Gods goal is to see man and woman married to rasise Godly children so they are kingdom minded . The curse came that day in the garden by disobeying God, a curse entered that day which was driven by fear and resulted in selfishness. 2 Tim.4:1-3  says people would be lovers of themselves , fear breeds selfishness which always causes us to turn our back on God. Marriages go through seasons , some may not feel like the honeymoon stage, during that timewe must be loving toward each other  on purpose look for ways to move on beyond our selfish feelings. Don't run from Your Development.

The key is to understand even if the other person does not change , we must stay committed to walk in Love 1Cor.13:8 says Love never fails, that means we can never apply love to any situation and not ultimately see change take place.Choose to love them like Jesus.God Bless you

God's Love

MSG:"(I John 4:18) 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. "

This seemed to be a good one. For me anyways.

I have always had personal issues. Mainly being  afraid of love. Not of girl/guy love. Love period.

I could never trust enough to have love or give it as well! I knew what it was and how it felt... Yes! But I feared it deeply. And bc of that I never knew what it was suppose to be. Everything negative always happened. Fights, lies, people stealing, people doing me wrong, drugs and alcohol. Etc. I knew that wasn't love but I also knew that if I hid from the world I couldn't have harm hurt me. Wrong again!! I turned hateful and angry. That was my punishment for believing the world couldn't hurt me when I was of the world blindly. How did I overcome that?! It took years!! 5 maybe? It wasn't until my sister (acted out of love) told what she saw daily and dragged me to this church. Awakening life. It took me a few times to understand what was going on. But when I figured it out. Oh I let go! I let go of it all. I finally felt real love!! That was love!! Gods love!! And I didn't want to lose that!!! Not a chance! So I fought!! Hard!! And I still have that love and I'm not letting go! So don't think hiding and lying to yourself is gonna help u make it. Bc you won't. You gotta have Gods love first to love anything. Only then will you actually be free of fear or to be more exact: THIS WORLD!

Made with Love

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10

Have you ever worked super hard to make something? Have you ever wrote a story or poem, painted a picture, made a quilt.... Whatever it was you made it with love. You were really proud of it and probably protective over it right ? You wanted everyone to be careful with it and treat it with respect.

Well we should all put ourselves in that same category because we are indeed God's masterpieces. We are his workmanship. He created us and he is so proud of us and super protective of us! We were all created with a purpose in mind. It is so amazing how much we are loved and adored by God!!! We are all Made with Love!!

Who Is Fighting Your Battle??

And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the LORD to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. (II Chronicles 20:15 NKJV)
You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you.” (II Chronicles 20:17 NKJV)

All of us have found ourselves in a battle; a situation where we just didn't know what to do!! A time when no matter how hard we tried nothing seemed to change. Our battle continued to rage on.

In 2 Chron. 20 we read about Jehoshaphat , King of Judah. When faced with an invasion from three nations joined together, he called for a day of prayer and fasting. The Lord spoke through a prophet, telling his army to take up their battle positions and watch The Lord fight this battle.

I believe this is what The Lord wants from us today!! Many times we try to fight our battle. We look for ways to make it easier or shorter and often end up making matters worse!! Really all He is asking is for us to have faith and trust in Him! We don't always understand His ways. (Iss.55:8) But one thing we do know The Lord will fight for us and we just need to be still. (Exodus 14:14 NIV)

Yucky sour milk!

"The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks. "

Luke 6:45

Imagine you are super hungry. You grab a  big bowl out of the cabinet. Grab the cereal box, and snatch the cold milk out of the refrigerator. You poor the cereal and milk in the big bowl, grab a spoon and scoop a big bite up and put it in your mouth..... And yucky!!!! The milk is sour!!! That really stinks!!! It didn't look any different from the fresh milk.

It's true. Sometimes things can look good on the outside, but when their insides are examined the truth really comes out. If your heart is full of bad stuff  like bitterness, anger, jealousy or pride it will show up on the outside. That will usually will be through the ugly words you speak. So read God's word and plant it deep in your heart. So life giving words will flow freely from you!! Be a life giver!!

The Tough Questions

There seems to be some redundant questions being asked in the Christian circle. Age old questions that I am sure have been asked and debated more than there fair share. Questions that I feel are dumb, there I said it :),  and questions that the answers really mean nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Is drinking wine a sin?

Is getting drunk a sin?

Can you still smoke pot when you are a Christian?

What does the Bible say about moonshine?

This probably isn't going to be a very popular devotion! But, never the less, here I go!

The Holy Spirit had reveled this revelation to me awhile ago, and I heard Creflo Dollar graze the subject in the same direction this past weekend.

We are under the new covenant of Grace. The old Covenant (Moses) was written on stone. The covenant we live under has been written on our hearts.

Romans 8:10

But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day, says the LORD: I will put my laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

Romans 2:15

They demonstrate that God's law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right.

Grace. Grace is our teacher. There are many scriptures about this! We live and operate under grace now.

The problem with all these questions, and why I dare say they are dumb, is this: why are you asking them. If you proclaim to be a Christian, where is your heart? I would question why you would even be asking this. And to the Christian who just has to know, ask the Holy Spirit. Our laws are written on our hearts. What is He telling you?

When I think about things like this in my personal life and question the Holy Spirit, this is the answer I get:

I'm sure I wouldn't go to hell and loose my salvation for drinking a glass of wine. What's the motive behind it, I hear the Holy Spirit whisper. Danger, could lead to trouble. Don't you want to occupy your time spreading the Gospel instead. There is much work to be done.

Grace. Isn't it wonderful. It leads you, stops you when you start to stray, and straightens you out if you get crooked. Grace. New Covenant. Better covenant. Better promises.

I encourage you to quit debating silly what if's - can I's in your Christian walk. Focus on God. Believe. Thank Him. Walk in Love. There is so much more to this thing called Christianity than whether or not you are allowed to drink a glass of wine with dinner. There is a hurting world out there. How can you reach them?

P.S. I heard Creflo say this, and thought it was funny! If you are going to ask the Holy Spirit about things like this just remember you have to have Him in order to hear back from Him! If you are curious on the subject of the Holy Spirit read this and this.

Thanks so much for reading!!!!
