Clean up time!!!

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Psalm 51:10

Anyone that knows me well can tell you all about my obsession with cleaning! I clean almost everyday! People come over to my house and I drive them crazy for sure! They put a cup down and I have it washed and put away before they can blink their eyes. I drive my family crazy with my little obsession too! My daughter gets out a toy to play with and before she knows it the toy is put back up in its perfect place! My husband walks in the door from work and I ask him to take his work clothes off so I can wash them! He doesn't find my cleaning funny sometimes!

I bet some of you are the same way. When you bake a cake you wouldn't pour the batter in a dirty pan to bake it would you? You wouldn't invite company over and serve them dinner on dirty plates would you? No I'm sure you all wouldn't do that.

Think about this.... We all focus on cleaning things on the outside. Some more than others! Hahaha! But we all clean stuff in our house. We also need to focus on cleaning up our hearts! A prerequisite for being used by God is getting cleaned up on the inside. Before God gives you a vision of what your future might be, ask him to clean up your heart. I pray all the time for God to reveal to me all sins the known ones and maybe the ones I've been ignoring. You can pray that prayer too! When he shows you, confess that sin to him and then turn away from whatever it might be! Let's all take charge of clean up time!!

Thank you so much for taking time to read today's devotion!! My name is Mandy Robertson, but I'm sure all my family and friends figured that out already! :) I love to read everyone's thoughts so please comment below!

  1. I think you are a wonderful wife and mother. I use to be like that and cleaned all the time :( Like you, I want to please God and be in His perfect will at all times. LORD REVEAL TO ME MY FAULTS AND HELP ME TO FIX THEM!!! I think your devotion is cute Mandy and TRUE :) Pamela Britt Malone

  2. Very true! Thank you for sharing part of yourself with others. God is working on all of us if we let him. I used to be fanatical about cleaning also, but as I have grown older In am learning to relax some. At times I clench my teeth and stomp my feet when things are not put in place by other folks I live with, which is not good.

  3. Most importantly is who we are on the inside. Letting God work on us can be difficult because we have to see our own character faults and failures, but after we repent and receive forgiveness he delivers us and we are changed. From a catipillar to a butterfly! Love you!
