When My Heart is Overwhelmed

Psa. 61:2-3 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

I am sure that at some point in time each and every one of us have felt overwhelmed. The truth is there have been many days I have felt very overwhelmed with the things of this world.

That feeling of being overwhelmed can come from many places. It can come from the demands of your job, having a sick family member or financial difficulties. Maybe you are a parent feeling overwhelmed by the demands of your family. Maybe you are a single person and feel overwhelmed with loneliness because there is no one to share your life and home with. I could go on and on with this list and never complete it!!

The truth is that life can be hard. Trials and difficulties come. When they do, we should take a lesson from this Psalm of David. When his heart was overwhelmed he cried out unto The Lord. David knew just where to find that shelter from the enemy. In The Lord!!!

So today if you are feeling overwhelmed with the demands of this world remember also these words from Isaiah 40:28-31 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the  Lord , the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.   Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the  Lord  shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. You see The Lord is never overwhelmed!! He is where we are to get our strength!!
