Love With Your Words

Everyone knows we are suppose to love with our hearts. Have you ever thought about how we are to love with our words?

Ephesians 4:29

Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk (ever) come out of your mouth, but only such (speech) as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God's favor) to those who hear it.

Our words are powerful. Little containers that contain power when they leave our vocal chords. Power that can tear someone down or power that can build someone up. When you choose to not love someone with your words you are damaging their soul. The soul is made up by the mind, will, and emotions. This area is only accessed by God. He is the only one that can heal this area through unconditional love.

Think about these words.

They don't make you feel very encouraged do they?

Now think about these words.

These words lift you up right? They make you feel like everything is going to be ok!

Make loving with your words a habit! Let's help others accomplish things through Jesus with our words. Let's spread hope. Let's spread grace.

Proverbs 15:23

A man has joy in making an apt answer, and a word spoken at the right moment - how good it is!

  1. I needed positive words today Sissy. I am so hard on myself because every time I sin I know it breaks The Lord's heart. The thing is I know I can never be perfect but I am exhausted trying :( Holding my head up today and receiving your encouraging words! Love you and pray the words that come out of my own mouth are as encouraging as yours were to me :) Pamela Britt Malone
