In it, Not of it

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. (Romans 12:2 NLT)

This week my heart has been so heavy and burdened down. I am beginning to think that we as Christians, God's holy people, have forgotten that we are supposed to be different and set apart from the world!

The scripture above clearly states that we shouldn't participate in the evilness of the world! It just boggles my mind how people are just riding the fence!! We have become so world-minded instead of Word-minded!!! We shouldn't even be in the same mindset as nonbelievers, much less act like them, talk like them, participate in their jokes, watch their movies and tv shows, or listen to their music! If we are acting like them, what's the point in even confessing our salvation?? It seems as though some of us are just using Christianity to get a title or receive a higher social status. This breaks my heart. We have got to start representing our churches better and at the same time representing God better!! We shouldn't say or do anything that would ultimately cause us to be a stumbling block to someone who could have received Christ!

So, change the way you think!! Have the mindset of being in the world but not of it!!! We are here to change peoples lives for the good and the only way we can do that is if we are living like Jesus!!

This was written by Maggi Sellers. I know it seems a little harsh, but it was what was boiling up in my spirit and it had to come out! My heart aches for the lost and it breaks me to see people not take these things seriously! My ultimate goal is to just see people saved.
