"That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death" Philippians 3:10
"Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:4
As my son & I were driving down the road yesterday, he was admiring all the different shapes of clouds. He said, "Oh mommy, look at those things shining through the clouds, that's Jesus! We have to keep our eyes on Him & we have to follow Him!" The "things" shining through the clouds were, of course, the rays from the sun, but to my 5 year old they were so much more. They were the rays from the actually SON of God! This lead us into a discussion about heaven never having "nighttime". He wanted to know why Jesus didn't have a bedtime & why He never slept.
Hearing a young child ask questions & dig deeper into God's word almost made me ashamed. Yes, I read my bible & I dig deep, but is it enough? Could I do more? My son is constantly asking questions about Jesus & I often wonder why so many others aren't like that (including myself). We should be as humble as a small child. We should want to ask questions & know more about our Savior!
