Gen. 3:1 The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?”
Gen. 3:9 Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”
Did God really say....?
This is the first question in The Bible. Satan used it to put doubt in the mind of Eve about the words that God had spoken to her and Adam in the garden. I believe it's still one of his favorite tactics! He doesn't want us to take hold of God's word. Whether it's the written word or a word that we know that God has given to us personally, satan wants to place doubt in us to keep us from God's plan for our life. He is crafty and cunning! His job is to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10)
Many of us will listen to this question and many others that satan whispers to us. Often all it takes is that one seed of doubt and we are on the wrong path and out of God's will and plan for our life. But, isn't it great to know that God is always there calling out to us? No matter how far off course we get He will come looking for us. Just as He did when Adam and Eve tried to hide from Him after they had sinned, He will come calling to us "Where are you?"
