Take out the Trash

We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5 NLT)

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13 NIV)

This week at our Saturday morning prayer meeting, Pastor Ant asked everyone to pray that we would have a deeper passion for God as a church body and in our own personal lives. As I was praying, I felt the Holy Spirit continually saying to take out the trash! I heard it over and over again! Take out the trash, take out the trash... God is saying if we desire to go deeper with him and desire a bigger passion for him then we need to empty ourselves (and our church) of and any garbage that we may have in our lives!! This is anything that is not pleasing to God!

Unforgiveness, secret sin, bitterness, jealousy, worry, doubt, fear, depression and anxiety, self-righteousness, pride, arrogance.... All of these things need to GO if we want our spiritual lives and our churches to function properly!! If you are holding on to them, pray that God will empty you and fill you up with more of him!!! Submerge yourself in the Word! Spend time in prayer and fasting until there is nothing left to keep you from getting closer to God!!

Don't forget, once the trash is gone, IT IS GONE!! We don't go digging in the nasty garbage looking for what we've thrown away!!!

  1. So true darling! I recently was ask by God to pray, fast and praise for my future son's job. I did not fast for me to demand from God him a job!!! I felt God was calling me to a different level in my life. As you said; I got rid of the trash so I could hear The Lord's voice!!! I feel the same concept is clearly going on in your personal life :) It is a beautiful thing when all you care about is laying your flesh down so you can hear the perfect will of God for your future! Nothing is more important! God first and the prayers will be answered! PTLORD....The Lord provided and my future son has a brand new good job :) GLORY!!!! Pamela Britt Malone
