Remaining Faithful

After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before. (Job 42:10 NIV)

In the book of Job, satan goes up to a Heavenly Council meeting. God asks him what he has been been up to and he answers by saying that he has been patrolling the earth and watching everything that has been going on.Then God asks him if he had ever noticed Job. Now, Job was the most blameless man of his time. He feared God and stayed away from all things evil. He was very rich and prosperous! Satan said that he had noticed him, but no wonder he remained so faithful because God was always watching out for him and protected him! He had blessed him and made him extremely rich! But if you take all of that away, then what?? Would he still fear God?? Would he still remain faithful?? Well, The Lord allowed Satan to attack Job. He said he could do anything he wanted to except kill him. So he did! He destroyed Job's whole family and his home! He killed all of children and caused him to be covered in leprosy! All of this made Job curse the day he was born, but he NEVER turned his back in God!

A lot of us think that just because we live a perfect Christian life we are protected from attacks of the enemy! The message of Job paints a pretty clear picture that this is not the case!! God allows things to happen to make us realize how much we really need him! But we have to stay faithful!! When the enemy attacks we don't need to wallow around in our self pity, but we need to get on our knees and in the word and rely on God to bring us through. God is capable of rescuing us!!

The end of Job is quite beautiful! God does come to the rescue! He restores everything that the devil destroyed!! He wants to do that for you too!! Satan wants nothing more than for us to deny God and turn our backs on him, but if we stay faithful God will restore us!!! We just have to keep our eyes on HIM!!
