Knock, Knock. Who's there?

“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. (Revelation 3:20 NLT)

Holy Spirit is always knocking at the door of our hearts and our spirits. He is always wanting to commune with us. It is literally as simple as just answering. A music pastor I was under one time put it like this. He said, "Holy Spirit is always speaking, the difference in whether or not we hear is whether or not we are listening". As common sense as that may seem, it's one of the hardest things to do at times. We all live in the reality of the day-to-day. The world doesn't stop just because we need to take a moment and answer the door and receive what Holy Spirit is saying. God understands this too! It's beautiful right?
The best thing about it is Holy Spirit wants to speak to us. He wants us. Generally when you're knocking on the door to someone's house, you want to gain entry. Since we live in the south, 9 times out of 10 that means when that person answers the door we are having supper. Haha! I joke but you see my point. We are visiting. That's what Holy Spirit wants to do with us. He just wants to commune with us to give us direction, comfort, discernment, and anything else God wants to do. We are friends of the most hight God! More so than that, the most high God is constantly knocking at the door of our hearts and spirits  because He wants to visit us just as bad as we want to visit Him. What an amazing love! What an amazing Father!
So I encourage you this day to be extra attentive to the voice of the Holy Spirit. What is God telling you? Where is God leading you? Holy Spirit is always knocking. Let's answer and see what happens. :)

I love you guys!!!
Thanks for reading!!!

  1. Yes Kyle sometimes I just need my life to be quite so I can be still and listen to the Holy Spirit. That is why prayer and fasting is so important. Love you. Pamela Britt Malone
