Patience is the art of hoping.

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. (Romans 12:12 NIV)

When I was younger, patience was something I couldn't grasp. If I decided I wanted to have something, I needed it right then! I can't tell you how many times this got me in trouble. As I've gotten older circumstances have came up where I HAD to have patience. I had no choice. I love this verse in Romans.

We must be joyful in hope. We need to understand that God has an amazing plan for our lives. The joy we have, should be in the hope we have in God. If we don't have hope, we are miserable. As Christians, we should be filled with hope.

We must be patient in affliction. We all go through troubling times that test our faith. It's the hardest thing to be patient when we are waiting for God to tell us to move or waiting for a situation to resolve. Remember having patience with God to work out our circumstances goes hand in hand with TRUSTING him. Remember his will for our lives is perfect. Even if things don't turn out the way we wanted.

We have to be faithful in prayer. FAITHFUL in prayer. When we are faithful, it means we must pray to God daily. Not just when hard times come up. We should also praise Him in the good and the bad. He loves us at all times. We are in constant need of a faithful God. We should always be faithful to Him.
