Praise it Through

Col. 4:2 Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving

Psalms 18:3 I will call upon the Lordwho is worthy to be praised;
So shall I be saved from my enemies.

Back in July I wrote a devotion for that is titled "Prayerfully Wait". As it turns out this is the most read post we have had so far. Now, the truth is I'm not the one that wrote it. The Holy Spirit used me to write it. I take no credit for that at all. There have been times over the last few months that I have had to go back and read it again to remind myself what God's Word says about prayer and waiting. Here are some of the scriptures from that post.

 John 14:13-14 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

  1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.

 Isaiah 30:18 And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the  Lord  is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

 Psalms 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

There is something we must add to our time of prayerfully waiting. Praise!!! Col. 4:2 tells us to be earnest with our payers and to be vigilant with thanksgiving.

Over the last few years I have been told MANY times to "praise it through". Now, to be honest I have not always felt like praising. I'm sure you know what I mean. For me it's the prayer for a mate. I go to family or church gatherings and am almost always the only one there that has no spouse despite having prayed for one for years.  Maybe for you it's that you have prayed for a baby and it seems everyone around you is pregnant.

We are to take or request to The Father with confidence and belief. Confident that we will receive. Pouring out to Him our most heartfelt needs and desires. THEN we should continually thank Him for the answer!! Praise Him not only because we know He is at work on our behalf but simply because He is worthy of that praise. Praise Him for the blessings that we have that we didn't even have to ask Him for!!!

Whatever it is that you are prayerfully waiting for, let me challenge you and myself to praise it through!! He is faithful.

This devotion was written from the heart of Beth Reed. I would love to hear from you.
