Know It All???

Psalm 139:1- O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.

As I have learned ...OUR SCARS ARE BEAUTIFUL TO GOD! God not only knows everything you have done, He also knows everything that has been done to you and everything you have been through! He knows us  well inside and out!

It has always been amazing to me that God knows how many hairs I have on my head! He knows every tear that I have ever shed and He knows every time you have ever blurted out laughing or even gotten the slightest bit tickled!

There is great security to me in the simple fact that our God is a KNOW IT ALL!!!

What God wants us to do is to come out from our hiding place so He can set us free! Don't be a hard nut to crack! LET GOD REMOVE YOUR SHELL! God needs us to lay down our insecurities, our fears, our worries ...our everything!! After all; He did lay His life down for us!

The question we need to all ask ourselves is.......ARE WE TEACHABLE???

Let me share with you the seven signs of an unteachable spirit that was shared with me from a friend.

1. ARROGANCE- (are you prideful?)
2. ARGUMENTATIVE- (do you like to argue?)
3. BLAME- (do you blame others or even God?)
4. CRITICAL- (did you know you can't criticize and have the joy of The Lord at the same time?)
5. DISRESPECTFUL- (do you have respect?)
6. LIVING IN THE PAST- (did you know satan will try to destroy you over your past?)
7. CORRECTION- (have you ever thought about when God corrects us we need to listen?)

Even as seasoned Christians we need to open up our hearts and let God teach us! I will never be too old to learn. We must continue to search ourselves daily and if you need to let something go in your life....THROW IT OUT!!!

GOD IS "THE" ONLY KNOW IT ALL THERE IS!!!! WE ARE NOT!!!!

Break free from bondage!!! Get RID of the spirit of religion! Let go of STUBBORNNESS!!! Learn to take COUNCIL from Godly warriors!!! OPEN UP YOUR HEART TO LEARN!!!! BE TEACHABLE!!!

God knows about our past, our present and our future. Pray and listen!!!! Don't let anything get in the way!!!

LIVE, LEARN, LAUGH!!!! BE FREE!!!!!

Jehovah rophe - The Lord who heals

Last winter I attended a LifeGroup where we learned just a few of the many names of God. Over the last several weeks I have really had on my heart "Jehovah rophe - The Lord who heals".

The Hebrew word rophe means "heal", "cure", "restore", or "make whole". We learn in the Old Testaments how God is the source of healing. The New Testaments reveals to us that Jesus is the Great Physician, the healer of our body and our soul. If you really take time to search The Word of God there is scripture after scripture that teaches us about His healing power!!

Psalm 30:2 I cry out to the Lord and He heals me.

Psalm 103:3 The Lord forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.

Psalm 118:17 I shall not die, but live and declare the works of The Lord.

Proverbs 4:20-22 I will listen closely to God's words. I will not let them out of my sight - I will keep them within my heart, for they are life to all who find them and health for the whole body.

I have two dear friends that are each facing a need for physical healing. One friend was diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently taking chemotherapy treatments. The other has a tumor on her pituitary gland and is facing 25 radiation treatments. Although her tumor is not cancer, if not treated it could affect her eyesight. BUT, my Bible tells me that Jesus' shed blood paid for their healing.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

So today if you or someone you love is in need of healing, let me encourage you to get out The Word of God and take a good dose of "God's Medicine". There is no other prescription like it!!!

What Goes In Must Come Out

Proverbs 4:23 NLT

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

Such a short verse, but it speaks volumes! The first time I got the concept behind this verse was the first time my husband and I had the privilege of studying the "Life" curriculum that was put together by Chris Hodges, senior pastor at Church of the Highlands in Birmingham, Al. It was our first time to attend a Life group/ small group. It was held by our pastor at his house.

My husband and I had been in a church our whole lives. We had long believed ourselves Christians. However, the more we studied and the deeper we got into the curriculum the more I began to doubt that I had ever truly understood what it was to be a Christian before.

One of the biggest epiphanies I had during this study was from the verse above. Broken down, it basically says what ever you put into you, will come out! The things you watch and listen to go straight to your heart. Think about it in terms of consumption. When you watch or listen to something you are consuming it. You are taking it in. Even if you don't realize it, you are. And what goes in will come out. Either in your words, your actions, or your beliefs.

Let me give you an example; if you listen music or read books that have a lot of profanity, you will be more prone to cuss yourself. People who watch a lot of violence tend to be violent. If you read your Bible daily, watch preaching most of the time, and only listen to Christian music, you will talk about Jesus, you will think about Jesus, and you will act like Jesus. Surrounding yourself with the word helps you to stay Christ-minded!

It's really a very simple concept that makes a lot of sense! What goes up must come down and what goes in must come out. Do guard what you put into yourself. It is so important! And if you have children guard what you let be put into them. It all has an effect. Let's try to keep the effects positive.

Let us make a true effort to guard our hearts. We are surrounded by evil. Evil that is usually very cleverly disguised. Let us be ever vigilant, and protect ourselves and our children from having a heart filled and overflowing with the evils of this world!

Thank you for reading my devotion! I hope it blessed you in some way! If you need prayer, have questions, or if you just need to talk to someone, please feel fee to email me at chassidyhester@gmail.com

Believing for the Little Things

Do you pray for the little things in your life? Sometimes it is easy to believe God for the big very apparent things in our lives, but do you think it's ok to ask and pray for the mundane details of our everyday lives? I do! If you are a Christian and think God isn't interested in your every detail you are missing out! God has so much more to offer!

Did you know that Elijah prayed for the rain to stop and it did?

James 5:17

Elijah was a human being, Evan as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain , and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.

The weather. Some might think that might be just a little detail that doesn't justify prayer. James makes a point t ok let us know that Elijah was human just as we are he prayed for no rain and there was no rain for three and a half years.

My family has a big Disney World trip coming up! While I have been busy ordering my precious almost 2 year old every custom Disney shirt under the sun I hadn't put much thought in what I would be wearing. I was starting to get concerned about financially being able to afford me the shorts that I wanted! I needed some new Nike shorts look alines ! I was praying to God and just asked him to help me. I had looked several places and couldn't find what I needed. He knew exactly what I needed to wear on my trip and I asked Him to stock Wal-Mart with what I needed. Two weeks went by. The Holy Spirit prompted me to check Wal-Mart and guess what? They had ever color I wanted in the exact shorts I needed! All for $8 a piece! I am so glad I invited God in on tho detail! Now He has taken care of everything!

Jeremiah 29:11-12

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

See God sans to be involved in every aspect of your life. He has plans for you, but you have to involve Him. It is a 2 way street. Just like this scripture says. I know the plans I want for you. Plans to give you a future. Call on Me! Come and pray to Me! I will listen to you! Look for me with your whole heart and you will find Me.

He cares. He cares. He will listen to you. He will listen to every detail You need Him to. You can pray you get a good parking place, you can pray that the weather changes, you can pray for God to help you find the perfect dress. You can pray. You can involve Him. He wants to be involved. Look for Him and to Him in everything.Every detail.

Never a Lost Cause

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. (Hebrews 6:10 NIV)

Do you ever feel like all of the effort that you put into working for The Lord is getting you nowhere? Like how you can put so much time into helping others, and going to prayer meetings and trying your very hardest to win lost souls, but still you feel like God nor anyone else seems to care or notice. You feel like you haven't led anyone to Christ and your prayed just aren't getting answered.

Since we are all human, I'm sure we have all had this little pitty party at one time or another!! We begin listening to the devil saying that everything we have done has been in vain and that we might as well give up and not waste our time! But don't listen to him!!! He is a liar!!! It doesn't matter if people notice what we are doing anyway!!!

As long as our hearts are pure and we know without a shadow of a doubt that everything we are doing is completely for God, he will honor us!! God notices everything we do for him!! He knows how much we love him and how much we love his children! His word even says in Proverbs 19 that he will repay us! So, don't get discouraged when working for The Lord starts to seem like a lost cause! It is NEVER a lost cause!!

Ms. Independent

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8 NLT)

Life is full of trials and hard times. There have been many times where I had to sit at the feet of Jesus and pray my heart out. I literally had to give all I had to God because I couldn't handle what I was going through anymore. And God completely took care of me. He carried me when I didn't have the strength to stand. He took care of me and He always has. I have a problem trying to be too independent. I try to do everything on my own, including the things I need to hand to God. This is definitely something I'm working on.. When any BIG issue comes up, the first thing I do is try to sort it out myself and I worry myself sick, when I should just hand it to God first thing! He's got me through every situation I've ever been through, so why in the world do I not just listen to Him? We have to remember, the same God who got us through our last trial, can get us through this one. He is the same FOREVER!

Not only do we serve a God who can take care of us, He WANTS to take care of us. He longs for us to be close to Him!! This devotional was written from the heart of Ashley Pierce!! I look forward to reading your comments!!!

Opening Your Heart to Love

Some people build up walls. People that have been hurt somehow often construct these gigantic walls blocking people from getting to close. Walls that don't allow love in or don't allow love out.

"Sometimes you put up walls not to keep anyone out but to see who cares enough to break them down."

This is a very popular quote. I hear it and see it all the time. It's typically used for relationship problems, romantically and just life in general. I can't help but read it and think you have it all wrong. Every person has to learn how to open their heart to love. If you don't, you want make it very far, especially if you are a Christian.

There is lots of things in this life that a Christian should by all means keep their heart guarded from, but love is not one.

God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

Romans 5:5

God has poured out His love into our hearts! How could our heart not be overflowing with love and willing to receive. God intended for it to be an open vessel. If you are putting "walls" up or "guarding your heart from love" you are going against the grain of the plan of God!

9 "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

John 15: 9-13

God just really lays this whole love plan out here in John.

I love you like the Father loves me. Remain in this love. If you obey my commands you will remain in this love. I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in His love. I tell you this so that your joy will be complete. Now, this is my command I was talking about: Love each other with this same love I love you, the love my Father loves me with.

See the heart it's an open vessel like a told you up above. God pours his love into your heart. This perfect non wordly, pure, fulfing, heavenly love. Whew, who wouldn't want some of that?!? It's the same love He , the Father, the Creator of the Universe, loves Jesus with. To remain in this love and keep this love a flowing all we have to do is in return love. Love purely, unintentional, with out expectation, whole heartedly, love.

So don't build up walls. Don't build up walls in romantical relationships or uncertain new friendships. I know everyone gets burned at least once (probably a lot more than that for the average single girl) in this jaded anti Jesus world, but closing your heart off to people is not exactly what Jesus intended. The wall thing it's not biblical. It's not what God wanted. Don't even say that saying. It goes against everything Jesus was for.

Receive God's love He is pouring into your heart. Open your heart to God's love and other people's love. Then let the love flow. Love people you don't want to love. Love people you get a sketchy filling about. Love people that it's hard to love. Love the people you are the closest to. Love Jesus. He doesn't build up walls you have to climb. We shouldn't either.

Thanks for reading :)

Where Has God Placed You?

WHERE HAS GOD PLACED YOU?

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in The Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

The Lord has a plan for our lives and if necessary HE will move Heaven and Earth to reveal HIS will!

In these very scriptures God promises to guide us if we trust in Him and lean not on our own understanding!

My Pastor preached a Sermon a while back and it stuck with me like glue and I will never forget it. I don't even remember the title of his sermon that life changing day but I do remember the meat of God's word presented to me and I remember clearly that Sunday morning I stepped out in faith that I had never experienced before!!!

Pastor Anthony said some people are satisfied only to go out and get wet up to their ankles in faith, some go as far as their knees, some to their waist but FEW dive into the deep waters of faith!!!

I realized that very day that  I was maybe even up to my chest but out of sheer fear I had never dove into the deep waters of faith and I had never totally given complete control to God!

In October of 2013 I was heartbroken that God was moving me in a new direction of my life. I wish I could say that I was totally sure it was God and I wish I could tell you that me being placed at a new location has been Candy Land! I would love to tell you that I was a woman of great faith and I never once wavered!!! All would have been a great story to tell you but only a story.

Truth is change is hard and my plans and your plans are not always God's plans . Truth is, The Lord seemed to move Heaven and Earth to move me to a new branch of employment and the truth is.... I went a kicking and a screaming and that is the TRUTH!!!!

REMEMBER... THAT DAY.....I PRAYED.... GOD MOVE ME INTO THE DEEP WATERS OF FAITH ....AND HE DID!!!! Imagine that?

What I would like to tell you is that I know that I know that I know that God has a perfect plan for my life! I DO KNOW that my God is making my path straight! I DO KNOW that I have submitted to HIM! I DO KNOW I have stepped out in FAITH and I DO KNOW I am trusting only in HIM!

You see, that very Sunday I realized that I no longer was satisfied being chest deep. I wanted more of God and less of me! I leaped up, dove straight into the deep waters of faith and I haven't come up for air yet!

God has perfectly mapped out a plan for my life and for yours :)

How can we trust God to show us His will? How can we not? LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING!! TRUST IN HIM!!!

Ask, Seek, Knock

Matt.7: 7 - 8 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

AwakeningLife Church is a church that prays!! Every Saturday morning at 6:30 a.m. (you are seeing that right) a group meets at the church to pray for our Sunday service. Every Sunday morning at 9:30 a group of ladies meet and does the same. We also start each new year with a "prayer revival".  This is not what most people think of when they hear the word revival. Each night of the first full week of the year we come together and pray for 1 hour. For the first 45 minutes we each sit and quietly pray. We pray for whatever is on our hearts but we also prayer for the many prayer request that are flashing on the screen in the front of the sanctuary.  Once we are done Pastor Ant gives a few words of encouragement and then someone leads us in corporate prayer. Over the last few years we have seen many answered prayers.

I have so loved this time since I started attending AwakeningLife Church. But, as I have mentioned in several of my previous devotions, I struggle with that one prayer that seems to keep going unanswered. To be honest, this year there were nights I had to make myself go to prayer because I was reminded that I was still praying for the same thing I had been praying for the year before!! The words of Jesus in Matthew 7 tell us that if we ask we will receive, if we seek we will find and if we knock it will be opened. So, every night I went to prayer and I asked. I reminded God of what his word tells me in Gen. 2:18 Then the Lord  God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.” Now, as I talked about in my devotion last week, I praise Him that He is answering!! It's been a little easier for me this year because the very next week I held in my hands a true answered prayer. Someone who is very dear to me gave birth to the sweetest, most handsome baby boy. When I took that little one out of that hospital crib I knew that I was holding the answer to many, many prayers.

A few days later, The Lord showed me what I had allowed to happen in my life when it came to praying for this particular desire.  While reading "The Circle Maker" by Mark Batterson, a passage hit me like a ton of bricks. It said, "We stop praying because we can't see any tangible difference with our natural eyes. We allow our circumstances to get between God and us instead of putting God between us and our circumstances." WOW!!! I know this has been true for me and I bet it's been true for many of you. So today, let me encourage you (and me) to ALWAYS put God between us and our circumstances.

Speak Life!

Ephesians 4:29 NLT

Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.

Alrighty. Let's dive right in. Let me first say that I am primarily ministering to myself here. I have been dealing with some stuff lately that has caused me to become less guarded about the words I speak. I know that there is no excuse for using my words so carelessly. Especially knowing how strongly I believe in the power of our words.

When something is going on in our lives that causes us to become angry it can be hard for some of us not to speak out in that anger. But, the Bible tells us, in so many different verses, to guard our words, that out of the mouth flows the power of life and death, to speak no evil or pointless words because we will be either justified or condemned by them.

So the best thing I can come up with as a solution to this problem I, and many others like me have, is when anger comes on you, don't speak angry and vile words. Hold your tongue. As we get stronger in controlling or tongues, I say we then take it a step further. Instead of cursing those who anger us or the situations that anger us, and instead of remaining silent, let us begin to speak blessings and God things when we are upset. I believe that this will improve our mood and negative emotions. Speak life into a dead situation! Uplift yourself and those around you!

Thank you for reading my devotion today! I hope it blessed you in some way! If you would like to reach for any reason, you may email me at chassidyhester@gmail.com

Envy

A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

Proverbs 14:30

I think in this day and age envy is a good subject to visit occasionally. You know its an easy thing to let creep up on you. In today's world we have such access to everything under the sun, and not really even just access, fast access. Think over night shipping fast access.

It is so  effortless. We have the ability to buy anything, look up anything, have anything our heart's desire. We have Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram where our friends can put pictures of all the new stuff they just bought and tell you how awesome it is. We have online boutiques where we can see where our friends are ordering things. Things that we need. Things that we want. Things that we might just be envious of.

You can be envious of lots of things. It doesn't have to be just material things. You can be envious of people's lifestyles. Or even people's blessings. Every time you log on to Facebook or Instagram you see hints and glimmers of other's lives and accomplishments. Maybe how you wish your life was going since you aren' having the best day ever. Maybe you are even envious that their life seems to be going perfect where as yours seems to be an uphill battle,

These are all easy paths to follow down, They are also paths that can seem very innocent at first but then quickly turn to have envious roots.

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

Proverbs 4:23

We have to keep our heart guarded against envy. We have to keep our earthly relationships guarded against envy, and more importantly we have to keep our relationship with Jesus guarded against any envious ways. It is ok to want things but don't let that become your obsession and your source of happiness. True happiness only comes through a fulfilling relationship with the Father. It's ok to look at other peoples lives and think man they must really have it together, good for them. We are human, and it is only natural to think this way. But, with a strong warning, they are natal thoughts not Godly thoughts. Don't fall into the trap of letting envy consume you and these thoughts become the source for your depression or withdrawal from God. He blesses you, He bless other people. We should be filled with joy when one of our brothers or sisters in Christ get blessed beyond measure!

But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.

James 3: 14-16

Therefore, putting aside all malice and all guile and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, like newborn babes, long for the pure milk of the word, that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,
1 Peter 2: 1-2

Put aside  all envy. Long, seek after, the pure truth of the Word. By it you will grow in your salvation.

Words of Encouragement

1Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up just as in fact you are doing.

I can't remember what day it was, but earlier this week my sweet friend sent me the most nicest text message. She wanted me to know that she could tell that I was growing spiritually and that the Holy Spirit had told her to encourage me. What she didn't know was that earlier in the week I had felt like a total failure to God because I had let my emotions get the best of me and depression and anxiety had entered in. I have struggled with these things in the past and I have been delivered but I still let my guard down some days even though I know that I shouldn't! My point to all of this is: my friend was obedient to the Holy Spirit when she was encouraging me. He knew just exactly what I needed to here at the exact time I needed it!! That got me to thinking....

Kind and encouraging words can make a difference in people! You never know what someone may be going through. We should all be quick to encourage one another daily!! This can turn a bad day into a good day! It can even put you, the encourager in a better mood to know that you have brightened someone's day!!

This devo was written by Maggi Sellers!! I hope everyone has an awesome Monday!!! Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit!! Encourage one another!!! We need each other!!! You can follow me on Insta and Twitter!!!

Deleting the Negative!

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. Ephesians 4:29

I know I feel best when I'm around positive people that lift me up! I have a few friends that no matter how horrible I feel or how bad of a day I am having, they always make me feel better! There are also people in my life that like to feed off my hurts! And the sad part is, I don't think they even realize they do it! It's easy to get caught up in the negativity in the world because there is so much of it! But we can't let it feed into us! Instead, we should strive that much harder to keep a positive state of mind! How are we going to show people Jesus if we keep a negative mind? To keep positive, we have to change the way we think! I try and do this with any situation that comes up! Maybe a job you were hoping to come through, didn't? The positive part is, you don't know what God was saving you from! Maybe a couple months down the road an even bigger opportunity opens up that you wouldn't have been able to take if you had taken the other job! His plans are bigger than ours, so we have to remember we only see a piece of the puzzle, when he sees the whole thing! And that in itself, is something to be positive about!

Let Him use you

I have not always been as sensitive to the Holy Spirit as I am now. There was a time in my life where I really struggled with whether or not I was hearing from the Holy Spirit or if those thoughts were my own from my mind. After I sought God in this matter I came to realize how wrong that was of me to even consider giving myself credit for Holy Spirit thoughts and ideas. Now I have noticed God using me even more in this area. If I feel the Holy Spirit telling me something in my heart I act on it immediately! Since I started doing this I have noticed God giving me more more in this area. If He knows you will do it when He tells you He will rely on you more and more to be His messenger! It's so neat the way that works. Show Him He can trust you and He will give you an abundance.

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

John 16:13

In this day and time with so much uncertainty in the world the Holy Spirit should be our most valuable tool. Something we cherish and are so protective of. After all it was sent to is by God in Jesus' Name!

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

John 14:26

We should all seek and pray that we are sensitive to the Holy Spirit's guidance and voice. When you feel the Holy Spirit speaking to you in your heart, your spirit, don't be afraid to tell His message. We are His voice. He will use us in all kinda of situations if we are obedient enough to listen and follow through!

For it is not you who will be speaking--it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

Matthew 10.20

I pray this is something you will go after. Wanting to be sensitive
to the Holy Spirit. To let Him use you! I pray God uses me more and more in this area also to bring encouragement, enlightenment. and clarification! And remember if you are ever talking with me and the tears start rolling and I tell you it's from the Holy Spirit you better listen because it is!! I can hear His voice and so can you!

Where He Leads Me I Will Follow

WHERE HE LEADS ME I WILL FOLLOW!!!

1 Thessalonians 5:7
Pray without ceasing.

When I was a little girl, Pastor Wallace York of the Julian Baptist Church would ask my daddy to lead us out in prayer... and when he did...I would beam with joy! Forty plus years has gone by; I now realize that was my very first experience with corporate prayer.

Preaching, teaching and prayer is a top priority in a healthy Church. Praying together is a vital key to opening up God's very presence in our lives!

The apostles learned the importance of praying from the Master Himself, JESUS CHRIST! It is plain to see.... A CHURCH THAT PRAYS TOGETHER....STAYS TOGETHER!

I am ever so grateful for my sweet Church Family! I am thankful that I attend a Church that knows the importance of prayer and the true meaning of unconditional love :)

The unity and bond that you form with your Church Family can not be broken. Church Family will see you through when no one else will. They will stand in the gap for you when the going gets tough! In the hard struggles of your life they will be with you, holding your hand, praying for you when you feel that you can not pray for yourself!

I have found that loyalty, love and trust flows freely within the circle of my precious Church Family.

At this point in my life I find no reason for people to continue to change Church's! Am I saying that my Church is  perfect? Of course not, but what I am saying is I do deeply love everyone that goes there! I am positivity saying that I am rooted and grounded in God's LOVE and NOT rooted and grounded in man!!!

Ever notice that Church's in todays society are full of excuses? Excuses will always be made up for the "pure de ole lazy!" Yep... Church 'folk' make up all kinds of crazy excuses of why they were not in attendance!

Sadly, not every Christian attends Church on a regular bases and even more sad... not every Church Member will get involved enough to know the joy of being a part of a close Knit Family :(

You could search the world over and never find the perfect place! No blood family is perfect so why would we ever think Church Family would be? God works among His people in unique ways. Everyone has major flaws! IT'S OK TO BE DIFFERENT!!!

When something goes wrong within the four walls of your Church, pick yourself back up, forgive and walk on!!! Time is short! The Lord's work is waiting, so focus more on GOD instead of dwelling on yourself!

Jesus said in Mark 3:34 to take up your cross and follow HIM!!! Follow Him in unity with your Church!!! Follow Him in prayer with your Church!!! Follow Him in LOVE!!!

Lean on your Church Family!!! They will be with you every step of the way!!!

Quick, Slow, Slow

James 1:19-20 Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires.
This is a verse i'm sure we could all put into practice more. That goes double for myself. People who know me personally need no explanation of why that is. But for those of you who don't, I'll elaborate a little.

I was on a debate team in middle school. I love shows like Law and Order, ect. I love the History Channel. I've always been one who craved knowledge and understanding and have always felt the need to share what I know (or presume to know) with others. (Some of you may see where i'm going with this) I might even roll myself under the bus here and say that I enjoy a good arguement or, rather, debate.

I realize some people can't stand these qualities. But, trust me, since I've rededicated my life to Christ, I've come a long way in toning that down. I contribute that solely to having Jesus living inside me. I came to realize that being right, or more knowledgeable than the next person wasn't getting me anywhere in the goal of witnessing and winning people over for Christ!
People who aren't saved, and even those who are, want someone to listen to them. To hear them, what they think, and how they feel. It's one of the best most easy way to make someone feel loved and cared for. To simply listen. Which, you can't listen if you don't stop talking.
The anger part here is self explanatory and a fairly simple concept. However, it's often one of the hardest parts of our flesh to bring into submission; our temper. But the verse says it; our anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. And when you think about it, being angry is kind of stupid. Does it change the circumstance? No. Does it make you feel better? No, and probably worse as a matter of fact.

Have you ever gotten really angry in the midst of something and let your anger take over. Later, you've calmed down, and realized it's not as bad as it seemed. But now you feel terrible and foolish for acting in anger? Well if you were slow to anger, you'd have more time to assess the issue and a clearer mind to think on it.

Praise it Through

Col. 4:2 Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving

Psalms 18:3 I will call upon the Lordwho is worthy to be praised;
So shall I be saved from my enemies.

Back in July I wrote a devotion for Awakeningyourday.com that is titled "Prayerfully Wait". As it turns out this is the most read post we have had so far. Now, the truth is I'm not the one that wrote it. The Holy Spirit used me to write it. I take no credit for that at all. There have been times over the last few months that I have had to go back and read it again to remind myself what God's Word says about prayer and waiting. Here are some of the scriptures from that post.

John 14:13-14 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.

Isaiah 30:18 And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the  Lord  is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

Psalms 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

There is something we must add to our time of prayerfully waiting. Praise!!! Col. 4:2 tells us to be earnest with our payers and to be vigilant with thanksgiving.

Over the last few years I have been told MANY times to "praise it through". Now, to be honest I have not always felt like praising. I'm sure you know what I mean. For me it's the prayer for a mate. I go to family or church gatherings and am almost always the only one there that has no spouse despite having prayed for one for years.  Maybe for you it's that you have prayed for a baby and it seems everyone around you is pregnant.

We are to take or request to The Father with confidence and belief. Confident that we will receive. Pouring out to Him our most heartfelt needs and desires. THEN we should continually thank Him for the answer!! Praise Him not only because we know He is at work on our behalf but simply because He is worthy of that praise. Praise Him for the blessings that we have that we didn't even have to ask Him for!!!

Whatever it is that you are prayerfully waiting for, let me challenge you and myself to praise it through!! He is faithful.

Believe Me

If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.

Isaiah 7:9

I have always been a firm believer in this scripture. It kind of goes along with the saying "If you don't stand for anything you will fall for everything." Sometimes in my fleshly ways I take this scripture a little to far. I can be somewhat stubborn and headstrong about certain things. Hard to believe, I know. It's not always a bad thing. If it is something I believe in, I will fight for it, stand by it, and defiantly not waiver. It is one of my wonderful character traits. Actually this one isn't bad if it is focused on the right things. Godly things. Belief in Him.

You are my witnesses, declares the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me.

Isaiah 43:10

Do you believe God? Not just believe in God, believe God. There is a major difference. You see any Christian can believe in God. It is pretty easy. The actual only requirements to being a Christian include this action. Believe in God. Believe in Jesus. Believe God raised Jesus from the dead. Confess Jesus is Lord. Pretty easy.

If you declare with your mouth "Jesus is Lord," and believe with your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

But, do you believe Him. This is a harder task. One that takes faith, and time, and even practice.

Without faith it is impossible to please God.

Hebrews 11:6

God has promised so many things in the Word of God. Promise after promise. Big promises and promises to get you through your day. Promises to give you peace and rest. Promises for you to be successful. Promises of eternal life. Promises of healing. They are all yours. Do you believe Him. Do you believe He can and will fulfill His word.

The Lord said to me, "You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.

Jeremiah 1:12

I encourage you today to start not just believing in God but believing God. Know that he is capable and willing. Know that he wants you to succed in your faith.

Keep this book of Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Joshua 1:8

Choose something to stand up for today. Hold tight to a promise of God. Stand firm. Find the scripture that coincides with what you are believing for. Keep it close to your heart and circling in your mind. Believe God.  He is more than capable. He won't fail you.

Thanks for reading! I pray for those reading this that God will do something amazing in your life today. Opening doors and creating divine appointments for you. Through Him anything is possible. As long as you believe.

Inspiration from this post came through God through Beth Morre, Believing God.

God is Always the Answer

For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth. (Psalms 33:4, 5 NLT)

The passed couple months have been the toughest I've ever experienced. I have constantly had satan throw things at me and I've been knocked down over and over and over again. There's so many questions I've asked and things I've wondered about. I've never had my faith shaken as much as I have lately. If there's one thing I've learned through everything that I've been through, it's that sometimes you have to be completely taken down to the bare root, where it hurts the most so God can build you up exactly the way He wants you. I came across this quote and I couldn't agree with it more. In all the worry and hurt I've felt, God is always the answer. No matter where I turn, God is always the answer. In all the craziness and confusion, God is ALWAYS the answer.

I know now, Lord, why you utter no answer. You are yourself the answer. Before your face questions die away. What other answer would suffice?

He Knows Best

Wait on the Lord : be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. (Psalms 27:14 KJV)

Okay, let's be honest... We can all sit here and say that we know God's time is always the right time, but in fact, we as humans NEVER go for that! When we are praying for something that our hearts are longing for it can get a little discouraging when we keep hearing the "not yets" and "it's not times" from God.

Most everyone knows that my husband Josh and I have been praying to get pregnant for quite some time now. There is no medical explanation as to why we haven't conceived other than, it's just not time yet in God's eyes, which I now see is completely right!!!

Three months ago, I started my new job! I had been praying and praying that The Lord would move me somewhere and he did!! But, if I had gotten pregnant  I would not have been able to stay! In order to secure your position after medical leave, the company requires you to have been employed there for one year.

So, you see, God has a reason for everything he does!!! He was protecting me by securing my job, therefore not allowing me to have my way right when I want it!!

Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my favorite verses!! I am sure you all know it! It talks about God's perfect plan for prosperity and protection for each of our lives!!! So, I hope this encourages anyone who has been waiting on God's timing! He knows best! He knows our future! He is protecting us! He knows every move we make before we make it!

This devo was written from the heart of Maggi Sellers! As if January 28, I will have been at Solstas for 3 months. Now, I was never very good in math class but I do know that 3 plus 9 ;) equals 12... So... I am asking that everyone be in prayer for Josh and I, that God will grant us this one desire! Ready Set Go

READY, SET, GO!

1 Corinthians 9:24 - Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

The definition of obtain is: To succeed in gaining possession of as a result of planning.

All my life I have been a planner. I planned my perfect little life out as far back as I can remember. As you can imagine life hasn't always turned out the way I wanted it to but GOD IS GOOD and at the ripe old age of 56, I  just feel very blessed to still be slap dab in the middle of the race we call life!

Lately I have noticed and I have been concerned about Christians having the want to and the will to persevere.

Sometimes we feel like the odds are stacked against us as Christians but we must have faith and go on. We have allowed God to put us on the right track so we must go ahead and finish this race with honors!

Christians need strong brothers and sisters in Christ to pick us up when we stumble and life seems like it is at a loss. The gift of friendship is a great comfort. The power of prayer for each other reaches Heavens gates and the Throne of God! I think people forget these importances sometimes.

As God's faithful we must put one foot in front of the other even if we are tired and don't see the finish line in sight. Troubles of life will come and go but Jesus will be with us forever.

We don't know how to handle every situation that comes along in our own life and sometimes we don't even know how to help others with their problems but thank God we know the ONE that can and His name is Jesus Christ!

We must learn to pray more and focus on the job God intends for us to get done!

As winners we don't always have to finish the race first! As Christians we must stick together and finish strong!!!

What if the person you had prayed for, finally was ready to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior and when they turned to you for guidance they discovered that you had given up! WHAT IF???

Stand strong! Jesus is counting on you!! Be bold!!! Lead others to Christ!

NEVER GIVE UP!!!

ARE YOU READY???? ?ON YOUR MARK!!!!!!GET SET!!!!!!GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Control

Heb. 11:1  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Prov. 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

Control - to have power over.

Friday night while on the way home from work I was talking to my oldest friend (well, I better say the friend I have had the longest) in the world. As is usual we got on the subject of our most heartfelt desires. She told me about a book she had read and how it had greatly impacted her life. I immediately went home and purchased it on my e-reader. The book is Draw The Circle: The 40 day Prayer Challenge by Mark Batterson. In one part of the book he talks about how unbearable things can be when we try to do God's job for Him. How that when we try to make things go faster, we usually slow things down. He says "Don't try to answer your own prayers. Don't try to manufacture your own miracles. DON"T try to do God's job for Him. " In other words let God have control.

Then on Tuesday while sitting in my car on lunch, I tuned in to the middle of a Christian talk radio show. I have no idea who the man was or even what the whole show was about but I do remember one statement that really caused me to think. "Faith is the opposite of control". To have true faith is to let go and believe and trust in God's plan. To believe His plan is perfect no matter how long we must wait. Whatever our prayer, dreams, desires or needs it will only be right in God's time. This is something I don't often want to hear. But it's true. So, whenever your tempted to try and make things happen in your time frame just remember that simple phrase. "Faith is the opposite of control".

This devotion was written from the heart of Bet Reed. I would love to hear from you.

Persevere

Romans 12:12 rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, continue steadfastly in prayer;

Rejoice when you are hoping for something! Know that the Lord will come through for you! He is a good God and He only wants good things for you!

Be patient when you are coming through a trial. Understand that the Lord will go before you in battle. He will not let you stand these tests alone. And remember that you are made pure in fire. Hallelujah!

Remain steadfast in prayer! When you are hoping for something, going through a trial, or just need a breakthrough, prayer is your way of touching God. It not only let's you talk to God and tell Him what you're feeling, but it comforts you. Praying puts things in perspective for you and allows the Holy Spirit to speak more loudly to you.

So in summation, rejoice, persevere, and pray without ceasing!

Thanks for reading my devotion today! I pray it blessed you in some way! If you would like to contact me for any reason you may do so at chassidyhester@gmail.com. Thank you!

It Never Goes Unoticed

Do you ever get tired of doing church? Do you ever have to make yourself get up to go to church? Do you ever wonder if your efforts are making a difference or matter at all?

Are not five sparrows sold for two small coins? Yet not one of them has escaped the notice of God.7Even the hairs of your head have all been counted. Do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.

Luke 12

I was in a prayer meeting tonight and God really spoke to my heart. I had been throwing some thoughts around in my head for the past couple weeks. I wasn't really complaining about the work I do for the Lord I was just thinking about it. Would all my earthly efforts to please God matter? I sometimes don't even realize that I work for the Lord a lot. I guess that is a good thing. I just do it. It's what I have always known. It's what I was taught as a child to do. I would follow my Gran Gran around ever step she made while she was ministering to people on the phone for hours. I was raised to sacrifice everything for Him.

Everything we do for God matters. No matter how small of a work or how large of a work it all matters and pleases God! I was reminded of this tonight. I make God proud! If you are working for God you make Him proud. He is pleased with us! We are doing a good job!

This is what the Holy Spirit said:

Don't  sell yourself short. Everything you do for me I see and count. Every sacrifice, every act of praise, every time you make yourself get up for church I see. I know. You don't do this for no reason. I am the reason! What you do for Me and My Kingdom would never go unnoticed. Your work and effort is valuable to me. I appreciate you and I am proud of you.

Nothing escapes the notice of God. He knows how many hairs are on your head. You are worth more than the sparrows.

I pray this devotion finds you well and seeking a meaningful relationship with God. He cares for you so much and wants the best for you. Put your trust in Him. Seek Him and you will hear His perfect voice.

Love Even When it is Hard!

Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” (John 14:21 NIV)

We all have people in our lives who are hard to love. It could be someone who gets on our nerves or gets under our skin or someone who has hurt you in the past! It could even be someone who continually tries to hurt you!! The bottom line is that we know we should show them the love of Christ, but we don't!!

Jesus gave us one commandment: Love each other, as I have loved you!! He also said that if we don't  love one another, then we don't  truly love him.  First Corinthians says that everything is meaningless unless we have love!!!! That's our worship, prophecy, miracles, everything!!! It's worth nothing if we don't love one another!! It breaks my heart to think that I don't love Jesus as much as I say I do because I don't show love to someone!! That person is God's child too and he loves them just as much as he loves you and me!!! What if my actions towards them kept them from wanting to receive salvation??? I would hate for that to be on my conscience!!!

So how do we learn to love like Jesus??? I've started read Limitless Love by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and Gloria says to do this: when we read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, that we should speak out loud saying "Thank you, Lord that your love in me is patient and kind and never envious..." This has really helped me to show love when it is hard!!  We only love because HE first loved us!!! Look past the the things people do and pray for them instead of hate on them!!!!

This devo was written from the heart of Maggi Sellers! As you can probably tell, I blog about whatever it is I am going through and about what God is teaching me at the time!!! I look forward to your comments!!! You can email me at lauriebaker8698@gmail.com or follow me on Instagram (maggisellers) and Twitter (maggisellers86)!!!

Take a deeper look!!!

There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor? James 4:12 ESV

A few months ago on my way to work, I noticed a guy walking on the side of the road who looked to be strung out on drugs. His clothes were dirty, he was very thin and he looked like he hadn't taken care of himself in quite some time. My immediate thought was how this man must be horribly off and there's no telling what kind of person he was.

As soon as the thought came to my head, the Holy Spirit spoke to me.. This very man could have been one of Jesus' disciples bc NO man is perfect! Honestly, I was very embarrassed that I had thought of one of God's children the way I did. I am by no means perfect, so who am I to judge anyone else on their lifestyle or appearance? We should look at one another with love and compassion as Christ does. How are we going to show others Christ when we are nothing like Him?

I encourage you to take a deeper look at people.. And instead of judging them, show them the love of Jesus! Remember, you never know someone's whole story!!

This devotional was written by Ashley Pierce and completely inspired by the Holy Spirit!!! If there is anything you would like to share, please comment below!!!

Adding Darkness Makes It Darker

It's hard for me to imagine a time and a world when African Americans were treated brutally. When people in the south were so.consumed with hate for people who were different. How could we have ever let it be like that. How could Christians ever think that was ok?

When I think about the time around the civil rights movement, which I do often, a wave of sadness and non understanding rushes over me. It's hard to imagine that really happening. It feels like that time was a world away.

I am so thankful for the strides America has made for civil rights. And while things have changed drastically there are still remnants of hatred and racism apparent. I was told a story just the other day about a sweet precious little beautiful brown skinned little boy. He is be just Nguyen made fun of at school and even told by one of the kids that he couldn't be his friend because of his stinky brown skin. Hate has to taught. No one is born non accepting of different people. That has to be taught.

Adding darkness to darkness only makes it darker. Adding light to darkness brings a change. God wants us to love. We need to turn the love up in this world. It was God's greatest commandment. Love. Love our neighbors. Having racist thoughts and teaching racism to our children is not love. It's adding more darkness to this already dark world.

Add light. Be different. Love everyone. Love peek that are different than you. Just love. Love like God loves.

 1 Corinthians 13:13

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love
