WORDS ARE SHARPER THAN A KNIFE,USE THEM CAREFULLY YOU NEVER KNOW WHO YOU MIGHT CUT.

WORDS ARE SHARPER THAN A KNIFE,USE THEM CAREFULLY YOU NEVER KNOW WHO YOU MIGHT CUT.

There are those who speak rashly, like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
Proverbs 12:18

Proverbs 18:21 ESV
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.

The words we speak can have a huge impact on all of our lives. I know people who have lived most of their lives being insecure and discouraged because their parents spoke words of judgement, criticism and failure to them on a daily basis.  They have been hurt so deep that only God has total access to restore their soul from all the hurt and pain . Isaiah 61:1 says that Jesus came to bind up and heal the brokenhearted. He is the lover of our souls and through Him we can be secure and successful. Once people are hurt and wounded by the words of others it can take some time to heal from the image they have of themselves. That is why it is so important that we learn to use our words for blessing, healing, kindness, life giving and building up!! Not for insulting, hurting and tearing down. Ephesians 4:29 says: “Let no foul or polluting language nor evil word not unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good
and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it many be a blessing and give grace (God’s favor) to those who hear it.”

As we all know this past weekend was a very anticipated game from the start of football season. In Auburn Alabama saturday the most exciting game of the year was played the "IRON BOWL". If you was raised in Alabama this is something we all look foward to as the leaves fall and the cold settles in. Myself being an Auburn fan loves to tease and aggravate my friends that are  Alabama fans. Its just a fun time of year and we won. My team won this weekend I was filled with excitement and joy!! Although I was super happy and pumped up about my team succeeding I was saddened by the news of Cade Foster being insulted and threatened with negative words. You see this young man will most likely give himself more grief and disappointment than anyone else ever could. He had a passion for football and if you ever have had a passion for anything and messed up you beat yourself up way worse than anybody else.

Cade Foster's life and possibly career will never be the same after that game. The Alabama football team along with Cade as well as Coach Saban is expected to live up to a certain standard. They have won championships and been undefeated for sometime now. Although they have definatly proven themselves time and time again all in took was one loss, one mess up and now people have seem to forgotten all the good they have done. Cade had put in countless hours of practice and kicked several feild goals before and was always sucessful but one mistake has changed how people look at him. My point about this is that your words have a great effect on people's lives. You can make or break someone by the words you speak to them. Everyone wakes up in the morning hoping to be successful but there are others that as they wake up the already believe they will fail today. They think that no matter what that day holds that they will not succeed.

So I am telling you that if you are the one that is haboring bitterness and unforgiveness in your heart because you have been lied to and hurt before let me say to you, please forgive and learn to trust them again. We as christains fail on a daily basis and God still chooses to love us anyway. We must show others the love of the father. If you are the one that feels like you are a walking mistake that everything you touch breaks or every job you take on fails. If you feel like you cant do anything right anymore let me encourage you. First, with God on your side you can conquer anything. Sencond, begin to speak LIFE over you each day. Third, let your walls down and allow people to trust and love you again. You will succeed and God will begin to mend relationships and restore your cofidence. God doesnt make mistakes!! He made you and me for a reason and purpose and that is to be successful and live life to the fullest.

Right now I speak to Satan and I bind any counter acts against these words. I call ALL of his works DEAD and whatever is dead has NO FRUIT. I pray that each person who reads this will take something from this and use it for your work Lord. We thank you God for instilling acts of kindness and words filled with love, hope and encouragement in our hearts Amen!!!

Here are some qoutes that I found encouraging:

“If you treat an individual as he is, he will remain how he is. But if you treat him as if he were what he ought to be and could be, he will become what he ought to be and could be.”
― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

“Love is the absence of judgment.”
― Dalai Lama XIV

“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”
― Jane Goodall

“The things you do for yourself are gone when you are gone, but the things you do for others remain as your legacy.”
― Kalu Ndukwe Kalu

“The flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of all.”
― Walt Disney Company, Mulan (Pictureback

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
― Anonymous, Holy Bible: King James Version

  2. Really enjoyed this devotional. We all say hurtful words in the grip of anger, hurt, jealousy, etc. We must stop and think things through before responding. Words once spoken can be apologized for but can never be erased nor forgotten. Harsh nasty words can have life long affects .As I used to tell my first grade students, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. Every living human and animal has feelings. Put yourself in their place before you say those negative, hurtful, or defaming words.

  3. Everyone needs to hear these words on a daily bases.I believe our words are extremely powerful. With our words we can either tear someone down or lift them up.A more productive approach would be to lift ,not tear down.I love your devotions and I'm extremely proud of how God is using you.XOXO
