New Things

Isaiah 43:18-19 “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.

This past week I've have been trying to think of some New Year's resolutions to do to make myself a better person and to just improve my life and that of those around me. Of course my mind wanders to the obvious, weight loss, saving money, recycling, ect... But, I've been there and tried to do that. I've never been successful in keeping my resolutions. However, I still have a need to do something new and different in this new year.

Studying to write my devotion, I came across this verse and decided that this was the Lord telling me to just let Him take the lead. Like for real! Let Him take control and He will lead me into new waters and down new paths! And His way and His new things will be so much better than anything I could ever come up. No weight loss plan, self-help group or anything else could out do the improvements and new directions my God had in store! The verse above says it. I can bring a canteen or a jug full of water to the desert but only my God, the almighty Yahweh can make rivers spring forth from the dry desert sands!

Join me in this new year, in this 2014, to give God control of our lives! And in full expectations of new and great things that only He can make happen! If you do this, I guarantee you will lose that weight, save that money, and make the world a better place in the process!
