Content In The Fathers Love

Content In The Fathers Love
Let your conversation be without covetousness and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5
This is my very favorite verse in the bible, I have written beside it, Never, Never, Ever!!
Being content is one of those things that you might sometimes have to fight to be. We have so many new things coming out and you might see your friends getting them, or it might be going places you haven't been. Covetousness can be spiritually dangerous. You spend more time looking at what others have and trying to play with your money to make it possible for you to have those things. This could lead to jealousy, boasting, gossiping and many other things that will get in the way of your relationship with The Father. You can try buying things that you may not need or getting into relationships that end with one or both broken and hurt. He truly is the only one that can make you happy and content. Money, people and things come and go but He said He will never leave you. That's Never, Never, Ever.
I believe His word. He has given me more than I thought I could ever get on my own. The only thing I can want is salvation for my family, friends and others who may not know Him.
Being content with my Jesus is where I always want to be. With Him you feel like you are the richest person in the world...... because you are!!
I hope this has blessed you today.

  1. You are so right, Denise!! I get caught up in worrying about the things I "need," but when I stop and focus solely on my Lord, not only am I covered with peace, but I also receive everything I thought I needed. The reality of this is that all I need is Him because He supplies all my needs!

  3. So thankful you allowed God to direct you Denise on writing this devotional! Especially this time of the year!!! All the hustle and bustle of buying presents for Christmas! God does supply all of my needs according to HIS riches in glory by Christ Jesus!! I have found that if you ask God for HIS will ..... Everything you need will always come :) Pamela Britt Malone
