Childlike Faith

Childlike Faith
Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
                                                                                                                                Matthew 18:4 (ESV)
Childlike faith is what is truly needed to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. When the Bible says we must believe as a child, it is not referring to the mental knowledge of a child. Rather, it is referring to the dependency of a child on their parent. A child is COMPLETELY dependent on their parent. They trust a parent to provide their every need – food, clothing, shelter, emotional support, etc.
God is our Heavenly Father and is loving and merciful. He is “the PROVIDER.”We should all have the faith to depend on Him for our every need, rather than turning to the world. When we come across hard times do we give it to God and EXPECT His provision? Or do we pray half heartedly, with doubt and then try to make a way to provide for ourselves?
God also provides us with PERFECT love. We should depend on Him first and foremost when it comes to love. All too often we look to our friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, spouses and even society to heal our broken hearts. I know that that is heartbreaking for God to see His child turn elsewhere for love. As a parent, when one of my children has been hurt or is sad, I want to be the one they run to. God wants that from His children as well. When you are experiencing hardships talk to God about it. Read His Word and see what it has to say. I am not saying to avoid talking to people in your life as well, but so many times they are the only ones we consult. God will give better advice than anyone on Earth every could.
When you become completely dependent on God a TRUE LOVE relationship can grow beyond your wildest dreams. He is our Father. He wants the best for us. Trust God to take care of your every need.   Have a blessed day!
