Daniel 3:23-27 So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, securely tied, fell into the roaring flames. But suddenly, Nebuchadnezzar jumped up in amazement and exclaimed to his advisers, “Didn’t we tie up three men and throw them into the furnace?” “Yes, Your Majesty, we certainly did,” they replied. “Look!” Nebuchadnezzar shouted. “I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a god !” Then Nebuchadnezzar came as close as he could to the door of the flaming furnace and shouted: “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!” So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stepped out of the fire. Then the high officers, officials, governors, and advisers crowded around them and saw that the fire had not touched them. Not a hair on their heads was singed, and their clothing was not scorched. They didn’t even smell of smoke! (NLT)
I have always found the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego amazing. The three were thrown into a literal fire and when they came out they were not singed, scorched nor smelling of smoke!! The Lord shielded them from the flames!!
We all at one time or another have gone through a fiery trial. Sometimes these trials come when we, like the three Hebrew men, stand up for our God. Sometimes they come because we or someone else makes a bad choice. No matter what causes the fiery trial on thing is for sure, He'll shield the flames each time.
My favorite song is about just that.................Him shielding the flames and bringing us through.
He never promised that the cross would not get heavy
And the hill would not be hard to climb.
He never offered a victory without fighting.
He said help would always come in time.
Just remember when you're standing in the valley of decision
And the advisory says give in, Just hold on.
Our Lord will show up And He will take you through the fire againI know within myself that I would surly perish
If I trust the hand of God, He'll shield the flame again.

This story and this song serve to remind me that no matter what the fiery trial is, that our Father will shield us from the flames and bring us through. We must have faith in Him. Rely on Him. Trust in Him. Rest in Him. And He'll shield the flames again!!
This post was written from the heart of Beth Reed. My prayer this week is that no matter what has caused the fiery trial in your life, that you will remember that HE is there shielding you from the flames and will bring you through.
I hope this has been of some encouragement to you. I would love to hear your comments.
