Remember The Rainbow!

Genesis 9:12-17(NIV)

12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
17 So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”

The rainbow is a sign from God of a promise He made to Noah. He promised to never again destroy the earth by flood. Each time I see a rainbow I'm reminded of ALL the promises of God. I'm reminded that He is not a man that He should lie. If God has promised it He WILL do it!!

A few days ago I left work feeling sad. I had gotten a prayer request from a sweet friend that day. She has been praying and believing for a child and it seems all around her others are having babies and she still waits. I myself am praying and believing for a Godly mate. All around me it seems people are getting engaged and married. And I, wait! I have other dear friends praying and believing for their most heartfelt desires. Whether it is a baby, a spouse, financial need, job, or healing. They are praying and believing. On my way home that day I was talking to God about it all. Why are so many people who are praying, believing and trusting not receiving? I just don't understand. At that moment I looked to the sky and there was a rainbow! There had been no rain that day! In fact it was one of the most beautiful days we had in awhile!

God placed that rainbow right in the sky just for ME!!! My Heavenly Father wanted me to remember!! Remember that HE never goes back on His promises. He is faithful! His promises are true!

So, if you are struggling today "REMEMBER THE RAINBOW!! If God said it, it will happen!!

This post was written from the heart of Beth Reed. My prayer this week is that each time each of us see a rainbow we will be reminded that God is faithful!!

  1. Yes Beth it is so very important for all of us to stand on the promises of God!!! Never to give up!!! Always continue to have faith and hope!!!! Life is not fair as we can all relate to that !!! As Kenneth Copeland says; it has not been fair since the garden of Eden !!!! All I know is that GOD IS FAITHFUL!!! God is faithful to me and I will be faithful to Him!!!! Pamela Britt Malone

  2. I have been in much the same situation as your friend. As far back as I can remember I always wanted to be a mom. At the age of 23 I was told that I would likely never get pregnant without some medical intervention. I was devestated! For years we waited. Then it happened. I found out I was pregnant on Monday. However, I misscarried just two days later. I was so broken, and I remember praying so hard. That time in my life, even though extremely heartbreaking, was very rewarding. My relationship with God was strengthened, and my prayer life received a much needed push. I am happy to say now that I am the proud mother of three, one waits on me in heaven and two keep me busy on Earth. I have ONLY God to thank. On the day I miscarried I told God I wanted HIS will in my life, whether that included having children or not. I kept my faith in God and He blessed me. I have had three pregnancies and did NOT get any earthly medical help. I sought the GREAT PHYSICIAN to see me through the situation. Becoming pregnant when I was told that I had less than a one percent chance of doing so was a GOD THING! And God things happen on God's time! God promises that all things will work for the good of those that love the Lord. And He ALWAYS keeps HIs promises!
