Matthew 11:28 The Message
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
Do you ever feel so tired that all you seem to do is beg for rest? I know myself what being tired feels like. Sometimes I feel like I am constantly in information overload. From chasing my two-year-old around, from work, or just in general life can be so tiring for me.
God made this world in 7 days! Wow... That's just amazing when you really stop and think about it. Even though our God did not need rest he chose to rest anyway. He purposely took the time to step back, stop working and enjoy his creation.
Unlike God we are human and get stressed and tired and just feel drained. But because sometimes we think we're superhuman we make ourselves keep going and going till we just completely want to crash.
We need to remind ourselves to take time to recover physically, emotionally and spiritually from lifes demands. You need quiet, reflective and restful moments away from stress and our to do list. Take time to be a parent, a friend and a child of God.
I know sometimes I feel like I work so hard to make everything perfect but yet I feel like I'm failing if it doesn't go exactly how I think it should. But, the Bible reminds me that God's ways are much higher than our ways and we can only comprehend a tiny shred of his master plan. Things might not always turn out what we want them too but God always has a plan B.
So learn to appreciate lifes questions. You will be able to learn more about yourself and about life itself. You may be so tired and weary and just drained but remember God is the master architect of the universe. He has chosen to reach beyond the sun, the moon and stars to take your hand and provide you rest. We just have to allow Him to provide that rest and comfort to us.
God doesn't always untie all the knots in our lives, those things that make us worry, but in these cases our Heavenly Father gives us Grace to live with those knots and Grace will bring us peace.
He has planned for us to experience a vibrant life, in perfect harmony with the gifts He has given us. So don't let your life be a series of random events, live it on purpose; live it with passion.
True happiness is knowing that you are constantly in the process of becoming what you are meant to be.
