Heb. 11: 1-3 Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.
A few weeks ago Pastor Anthony preached a sermon titled "Have Faith In Your Faith". It was one of those that you "know" is just for you. In the last few days I have been in need of a reminder. So, I went to the AwakeningLife Ministries app and listened to it again. It has caused me to wonder how many of us have a true faith in God and His Word. Or are most of us living with a "fake faith"?
We talk about Him and all He has done and all He will do. But when a crises arises do we use our faith? Do we STAND on His word? Or have we done a whole lot of talking but truly have nothing to back it up? There is an old saying "actions speak louder then words". Are our actions showing that we truly have "faith in our faith"?
Romans 10:17 says, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Faith comes by hearing The Word. Not by "heard" The Word. To have a "true" faith we must spend time in His Word EVERY day. If we don't we run the risk of only having a "fake faith" and not being able to "stand" in times of trouble. So........... let's all make a promise to ourselves and a promise to God that we will turn off the TV, put down the iphone, ipad, video game control, lap top........... Whatever it is that is keeping us from being in His Word. Let's promise that we will do whatever it takes to have a true faith. So that when trials come, (Jesus told us they would) people will look at us with our unwavering "true faith" and want what we have. JESUS!!!
This post was written from the heart of Beth Reed. My prayer this week is that we all will have a true faith in our Father and His word. That everyone we meet will be able to see it!!
I pray this has touched you in some way. I would love to hear your comments.
