At the Xtreme Winter Conference in Gatlinburg, TN in 2009 I heard a speaker say something that has stuck with me ever since. He said, "We all know people who are constantly talking about God. They can't get enough of him. They will freely talk about God to the unbelievers and take it to those extremes that most people are too scared to. And most people look at them like they are absolutely crazy. Even a lot of other Christians will look at them and say they are taking it too far. But let me ask you this. Do you think when that person gets to heaven, Jesus is going to look at them and say, "Ya know, I'm glad you loved me, but you loved me a little too much."
ABSOLUTELY NOT! This is the radical love that we are supposed to have for God and his people. We are supposed to be showing people God'd love. In Matthew it says to love God with all your heart, soul and mind. We are supposed to love him with EVERYTHING we have.
1 Chronicles 16:34
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
So how much is too much? My answer is this, it is NEVER enough. We could never repay him for what he has done for us. But what we can do everything in our power to make sure that he knows how much we love him because of what he done.
This devotional was written from the heart of Ashley Pierce. I hope this has inspired you to go out of your way to show God how much you appreciate what he has done for you. You can do that by loving him with all you have and showing others that love!
