There have been many times I've tried to take on things by myself when I know God has said "Hey, I got this." And when God says, "Hey, don't do that." I've done it anyway. Of course because of the decisions I made, I had to deal with the consequences of my actions. I have read over Genesis so many times, but one night I was reading and something completely stood out to me..
The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. (Genesis 3:21 NIV)
When Adam and Eve were asked not to partake of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they disobeyed God and did it anyway. They did exactly what God told them not to. They were banished from the Garden of Eden as a result. But Genesis 3:21 tells us God completely PREPARED them for what they would have to face outside of the garden. Yes, they made the mistake, and yes, they had to deal with the consequences, but God still prepared them for it.
Praise God that I have a merciful God who loves me so much that he will prepare me for the mistakes I set myself up for!
God tells us what not to do, we deceive him and do it anyway, we hide from him, he finds us out, we suffer for our actions, but God still sees us through it.
God is so faithful even when we are not!
