There is a war going on as I type this.
It's a war on Jesus.
These are all billboards that are up around our country.
It's a war against our Savior.
Matthew 24: 4-14
Jesus told them, "Don't let anyone fool you, For many will come claiming to be the Messiah and will lead many astray. When you hear of wars beginning, this does not signal my return; these must come, but the end is not yet. The nations and kingdoms of the earth will rise against each other and their will be famines and earth quakes in many places. But all this will be only the beginning of the horrors to come. Then you will be tortured and killed and hated all over the world because you are mine, and many of you shall fall back into sin and betray and hate each other. And many false prophets will appear and lead many astray. Sin will be rampant everywhere and will cool the love of many. But those enduring to the end shall be saved. And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all the nations will hear it, and then, finally the end will come.
(The Living Bible Paraphrased)
This is a real war. A war on our Messiah. Pastor Anthony really inspired me with his message on Sunday. He spoke about how our foundation (Jesus) was almost non existence in the world we live in today. He is correct. Jesus is slowly fading away. Atheism, satanism, agnostic belief, Muslims, they are all spreading like fire. The "Jesus Story" is played of as a myth now. Where is the church. Where do we stand in all of this? One of these signs says "useless Savior." Where is our voice? Where is your voice? How can we continue to let this go on? I think as a church we need to take our foundation back. Take a stand. Make a noise. I encourage each and every one of you reading this to take this war seriously. Get involved! Let's build back our foundation on Jesus. The way it was originally intended. It's ok to take up for Jesus!
As Christians we have to be so careful to not fall into this war or contribute to it in any way. Many of us are already trapped in it and don't even realize it. Here is how: "and many of you shall fall back into sin and betray and hate each other" and "sin will be rampet everywhere and will cool the love of many."
How do we fall back into sin, by loosing the Love of God causing us to betray and hate each other. This happens all the time "Christian on Christian hate crimes." It's part of the war that we are contributing to. Have compassion for other Christians. Love them. Be a good person. Don't gossip about them behind their backs. Don't do things intentionally trying to hurt another believer. Spread the love of God instead.
We also have to be super careful as Christians living in these last days, because sin is so rampet, that it will not cool our love. The love I think Jesus is talking about here is the love we show others. When we are exposed to so much sin from non believers in our everyday lives it is easy for our love to be cooled. You become so bitter at peoples sinful actions.
As believers of Jesus we need to be informed and stay current on this war against our Saviour. We all need to get involved. Take a stand. Build our solid foundation back up. We also need to be extremely careful that we don't contribute to the war on any level. We have to keep our love for others on fire :) We can't fall back into sin and betray and hate each other.
John 14: 34-35
And so I am giving a new commandment to you now - love each other just as much as I love you. Your stronger love for each other will prove to the world that you are my disciples.
(The Living Bible Paraphrased)
You know Jesus isn't just talking about loving sinners in this verse.
Your stronger love for each other will prove to the world that you are my disciples.
Thanks for reading! Comment :) It might encourage someone :)
