Proverbs 3:5 - Trust in The Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
Christians are no exception to life throwing a curve ball. The enemy is constantly out to get us and trying to make our faith waver. When bad things happen, we must keep our eyes completely on God!!!
Psalm 62:8 tells us to trust in Him at all times and to pour our hearts out to Him. God wants so badly for us to need Him and to be desperate for Him in our lives! He is our helper. The word says that He is our very present help in our time of need!!
Do not assume that you can just take care if your problems on your own. Without God, you are destined for failure!
Psalm 118:8 says that it is better to take refuge in The Lord than to trust in people.
One of my favorite stories in the Bible comes from 2nd Chronicles chapter 20. Judah was being attacked by the Moabites and the Ammonites. The king of Judah was afraid, but he prayed and prayed to God for help! God told the king not to be afraid, that the battle was God's and not their own! He told the king to take his army and march out but that they wouldn't even have to fight! When the army had taken position they began to sing praises to God and worship him. At that very moment, God caused the Moabites and the Ammonites to start fighting against themselves! Now I don't know about you, but I believe that if God can defeat an entire army then he should have no problem defeating the devil when he tries to attack. All we have to do is ask. When we cry out for help, he hears us and he will rescue us from our troubles.
We don't always understand why bad things happen, or why God even allows them to happen to his children, but when they do we are given an opportunity to trust Him. It is then when we should really be walking by faith and seeking Him. It is so easy to trust God when things are good, so why not in the bad? We have to remember that God is still God. He is in control and he has a perfect plan. He will take care of us, even if its not the way that we think he should.
So remember to always trust God, in the good times and especially the bad! That's when he really gets a chance to show up and show out! Every trial we go through is an opportunity to give him glory.
