Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord ? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” (Exodus 4:10-12 NIV)
Have you ever felt like you weren't good enough for God to use you? Maybe you were like Moses and you thought you weren't able to talk to people in such a way that they would listen and instead made excuses! When God says for you to do something, instead you say, "God I don't have the ability to do that!" But we have to realize it is not by our works and our abilities that we make things happen. God works through us. I think this is where a lot of us have trouble, myself included. We don't act on chances to tell people about God and what he has done in our lives by fear of rejection or making ourselves look stupid. We come up with excuse after excuse, but we have to remember that if we try things ourselves, we will truly fail. That is why God is always telling us to depend on him.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10 NIV)
So I encourage you, whatever you think your weakness is that is holding you back from fully working for His kingdom, to let him work through you. Let him strengthen you. Stop making excuses and letting your weaknesses hold you back!
I hope this has encouraged you to let God work more in your life! If so, please comment below! Help encourage others!
